We had hour first son yesterday, by C-section, at 12:08. He's perfectly healthy, aside from having been bruised by the forceps, and very quiet. So far, anyway. That never lasts for long.

Anyway, his name is Seamus Adam Reeves, he's 20" long and weighs 7lb 15oz.

Perfect little guy! And a long, braw upper lip on him too -- he'll have a great bushy moustache to be proud of one day. Blessings on him, and his big sister too (how big she is getting!), and on all of you.

What a fine young man that is - congratulations, oldraven! And I can see some similarities with his daddy, too...

So welcome to this world, Seamus Adam; may you always walk in beauty!

Give my best wishes to Mommy and the "big" sister Coira, too!

That's for anyone who noticed how much of an arse I am for not posting a pic of the mother (or taking a proper one, for that matter). I vow to have a decent picture of Angela and Seamus tomorrow night!

Needless to say, there is no better feeling on earth.

Fine looking lad oldraven. Enjoy the quiet while it last. I'm up to the teething and shots stage with the grandaughter whom we now refer to as little bear.

Congrats, oldraven.

Children are one of gods great gifts. I think grand children are his greatest

Congratulations- sons are a real treat- nothing like a little brother for your daughter to grow up with. Fine looking family- (especially the grandparents)- showing my age I know.

I raised six of 'em myself. (uhh not to forget with a little help from their mother)

Many congratulations on such beautiful children - both of them. Children are definitely a gift of God. Many blessings to you and your family.
I love the tiger outfit - what a great picture!
Enjoy this children.

Okay, so we don't know one another, but I happened upon this thread and was taken in by those beautiful pictures. So universal, yet so personal and individual. I wish I could nab the first photo and claim it as my own. As I have two boys (and two girls), the photo's all I'm after. tongue.gif

Posted by: coastman 02-Nov-2007, 10:16 AM
Wow! Congratulations!!!! I see granddad and grandma are all smiles. Remember with baby boys you have to put a towel over their water works are you will get hosed in the face when you change them. Grandkids are truely God's blessing.

Happy Birthday Seamus. Welcome to earth. Little tiger take good care of your baby brother. He is Heavenly Father's gift to you. May you always be the best of friends.

Thank you again, everyone. smile.gif

Rebecca Ann, Coira is very excited about being a big sister. Except, don't call her one. She get's upset if you don't call her a 'Big Sissy'. She'll figure it out in another ten years. wink.gif

This is a beautiful picture of all your precious ones - and everyone can see what a beautiful shining person Ange is and that you are blessed with two wonderful children.
For the purest joy we feel when a child is born they say that children are one of the "things" that are left from paradise besides flowers and stars.

Enjoy your family and revel in your luck, my friend - you all deserve it.

How is the family doing? I bet you are all looking forwards to Christmas. I still remember these big and shining eyes of my own kids on Christmas Day.
May the spirit of the season fill your hearts! smile.gif

Thank you both. smile.gif

Gab, everyone is doing fairly well around here. Seamus is already getting very big, gives huge smiles, and has started randomly cooing over the last few days. Coira is a bonafide Beatle-maniac, and is always helping us with her little brother. Christmas gets more exciting every year, and Coira has already seen Santa a few times. When she sat on his knee at the Goshen Community tree lighting/dinner, she was a star! Every other kid was either screaming, or just nodding 'uh-huh'. wink.gif She sat down and had a full on conversation, nose to nose, with the man. A very quiet and personal talk about the 25th's proceedings.

They both shone at the Bethel Community Church (where I spent my youth) Christmas Dinner. Seamus must have been carried by 20 different people that night, and one lady held him for nearly half an hour at our table during the carols. He smiled at her, and we found out later that she had never had kids of her own, for whatever reason, and he made her extremely happy. They were both talked about in Church that sunday, my Mum told me. The lady sitting by the lady I just talked about even mentioned him by name during prayer, and again they both were pointed out during testimonial time. The average age is drastically aging in that church, and it was a big deal to have these two making such an impression through the evening.

Here are some videos of the kids I took about a month ago. smile.gif

Your posts are a delight dear Lady and your new addition to your family I believe will grow to be a person of influence beyond any of his predecessors. I shall be interested in seeing how thigns progress for that lad. He has the strength of character that I believe will lead to him drawing people to him throughout his life. May he be blessed with a long life and good things come his way!

The Lass that started the posts. Of course.

But................ I started this thread............ unsure.gif

I think we're both confused now.

My apologies, the posting seemed more something a Lass would do as many a Laddie has forgotten how to share the beauty of such moments and still maintain their Masculinity. I am glad to see that I am not the last man left that appreciates the beauty of the birth of the next generation of Celtic Warriors! Blessings to you and your family. May Brigid smile on you and keep warm your hearth. Lum may yer hearth reek.

Don't worry none about your wee'uns. Coilra looks like she has already taken on the role of Little mommy to her new baby. EmmaAnn was the same up til a few years ago. Wouldn't allow no one to tell her she was a big sister either. Yet from the beginning Sarah was Jean-Thomas' baby and her birthday present from Heavenly Father. Jean-Thomas taught her to care for their baby and to this day the girls are inseprable. It will be the same with your two. May you always find great joy in them.

Thanks again, everybody. UlsterScotNutt, that photo in particular is one of my favourites. smile.gif

It is a beautiful image -- the warm light really enhances it, with the wood tones and Coira's pretty curls with her fingers caught in them. The pretty warm green behind the auburn tones is perfect. It really is a beauty. The shot of her fishing in her bunny slippers cracked me up -- something about the look on her face, like "Yeah, I'm fishing in the living room. So?"

My GOODNESS but that little guy's eyes are amazing! They are so perfect they almost don't look real, with the double dark shading around the lighter blue. And I still think he's born to greatness in the moustache department -- time will tell, but I hope he grows a big, bushy red one some day to strain his ale with.

It's amazing how much the two of them look like brother and sister, too.
