I was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. I grew up in a Nationalist family and I rejoice that we are finally gaining our separation form England. I went to school in England and had many English friends. It is the English government and its explotation of the Scottish people and Scotlands resources that I fought and fight against.

Like many Scots before me I came to the USA to be able to gain a higher level of education than was then availble to a working class Lassie.

"My heart's in the Highlands.
My heart is not here.
My heart's in the high
lands chasing the deer.
Chasing the wild deer and following the Roe.
My heart's in the Highlands wherever I go"

A poem by a great poet who wrote these words for all of us.

Hello scotia1935! Fàilte gu Celtic Radio! Welcome to Celtic Radio!

In my humble opinion, you have found one of the best websites ever. The people here are some of the nicest to be found anywhere on the net, and the music is simply out of this world.

So kick off your shoes, grab a mug of your favorite hot (or cold) beverage, turn up the music and have fun! I look forward to getting to know you better through your posts.

If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to ask anyone with the word "Guide" beneath their avatar. That's why we're here!

Oh I am so envious of you! I am not Scottish, unfortunately, though I do have a tiny bit of Scottish blood on my mother's side. But I jsut love that country! I can't get enough of hearing about it and looking at pictures and listening to the music.. I can understand why you are homesick! While I am proud and happy to be an American, if I had to be born somewhere else, Scotland and Ireland would be next on my list!

Anyway, it is so nice to have you with us. We are all like one big family here, and we just love welcoming new members to the fold! I hope that you will enjoy your stay with us, and that you will come back and visit with us often. I feel quite certain that you will grow to love the place as much as I have.

Welcome to the family, my friend!
And welcome home! smile.gif

Hello from the Arizona side of the great Navajo Nation! Glad to have you aboard and hope your experience here is a good one. I have some good friends that live in Dingwall. I have never been there, but hope to someday.

Welcome!

Hello and Welcome scotia1935!! I also am in Arizona but have a dear friend who lives up in Aberdeen. I visited him for 3 weeks last summer and hope to go back again this spring! We toured all over Scotland and also spent time at home in Aberdeen. I think besides the music that brought us all here you'll find many people with very similar feelings and interests... SO feel free to jump into the message boards...we are a friendly bunch and you'll find all age groups here. Welcome again!
