I guess that they would loath going to the Highland Games. At the San Diego Games last month we always have most of the pipe bands play in unison at the closing ceremonies. That is over 100 pipes going at the same time. wink.gif

I could never understand why people hate the pipes. I have loved them ever since I was a child. I still feel my spirits rising when I hear them. I have a CD of pipes on my clock radio that goes off as my alarm. It get me started before I get my morning coffee fix.

Bagpipes rule!!!!

When I was a young boy in school they ask you what instrument you want to play and I jumped up and said "Bagpipes"!!!!! They looked at me alittle funny and instead I ended up with an accordian! Nothing against accordians but it sure isn't no Bagpipe!!!!! I hated that summer!!! LOL

I think bagpipes are like cats, some people hate them for no other reason than the fact that they are what they are. And to them I say, You loss on both counts!!!!

You know the difference between a bagpipe and haggis? You can eat a bagpipe if you boil it long enough!! ROTF

Forty-one years ago I stood in the pass of Glencoe early in the morning surrounded by the mist listening to a lone Piper somewhere in the hills playing a lament. That sealed my love affair with the Pipes.

I love the bagpipes. My daughter had a piper play at her wedding. And when I die the pipes will be played at my funeral.

Ulsterscottnut;

The shivers running up and down my spine I thought every dead MacDonald had walked across my grave. There were tears in my eyes and I almost peed my Kilt.

How dare you say that Ulsterscottnutt!!! even though, alas, it's quite true.
I actually think none of my animals are sane, except Sir Aengus.

Truly a moment!

The closest I come to that is:
Shivers up and down my spine
I thought I was gonna die
Too scared to cry
peed my pants.......

Had a blackbear stalking me in the middle of the night>>>>>
Didn't know what it was for sure til the morning when we saw all the tracks in the sand, right over mine!!

I would rather have your experience.
I have a need to go to Scotland.

Maeve is sane???!!!!! There is not a bit O brain in that shrunken distorted head of her's. I'm surprised that Aengus has not yet killed her, As I look, she is gnawing on a hunk of parrot toy that Gabriel has flung at her.
