The Lakotah Tribe in the Northern Great Plains is appealing for help from the international community to reclaim their sovereignty.

The Republic of Lakotah is a proposed country in North America to serve as a homeland for the Lakota.

Its boundaries would be surrounded by the borders of the United States, covering thousands of square miles in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Montana. The proposed borders are those of an earlier treaty between the United States and the Lakota.

Most if not all of our Aboriginal Peoples are members of sovereign Nations having their Treaties with the Crown, the Government of Canada, and the Provinces. The Lakota have an uphill fight on their hands and I wish them luck.
