Since celtic music originated in the UK and Ireland (or is Ireland included? ) I was wondering if anyone in the forums lives in the UK.

The positive side of not living in UK is the freedom we enjoy and they do not. Have your read about the Duchy of Cornwall? It makes me wonder how the English live with the Monarchy.

Catriona, what do you do in Edinburgh? What is the state of Scots Gaelic in Edinburgh? Does anyone still speak it? I have a friend on Skye who sends me pictures of the islands. They are very picturesque! I'd love to come visit Scotland someday. Well, my wife and I do plan to come someday as it is the land of our ancestors, but an expensive trip!

AZELB, what do you mean about lack of freedoms and living with the Monarchy? I am curious as to your comments. Can you elaborate?
I was born and bred in Cumbria or Cumberland as it was known back then(prefer the old name)North of England, but for the past 7 years iv'e lived in Aberystwyth,North West coast of Wales.
Oh, how wonderful! I would love to be there. Is anyone near Kent in the UK? I have a friend there who has gone AWOL and would love to find out if he is still alive!

Where i lived or should i say belong is pretty much like rural Wales except there are more lakes. My home town is Maryport on the coast and about twenty miles from the lake district. We are also near the Scottish border about an hours drive away.I suppose you could say we are very lucky to live there but we don't appreciate it enough.I lived in London for a short while but couldn't wait to get back. Now i live in rural Wales right on the coast. Our house is so close to the beach i can hear it from my bedroom window. In fact i love living near the sea so much i won't live anywhere else except the countryside and as long as it had a river nearby,i'm attracted to water especially the sea.
Pics of both would be great moongoddess! Of course, if you can't find any we can understand, amazing how little pictures of the place you live in that you hae (from my experience)!
