Good Day!

It's that time of year again...

Fall is kilt-wearing weather, at least to me biggrin.gif

If your local community does not have a Kirking of the Tartans planned, then here is something to help!

I have attached a PDF of a nice Kirking; one very similar to what I grew-up with. It is pretty much plug & play. You just need a willing church, a couple of pipers, and people with kilts or tartan bits.

If you have any further question, please PM or ask here!

Thank you for sharing this. It truly sounds like a beautiful ceremony. Would love to attend one. Going to print out now and share it on our Kitchen Fridge.

Thank you, MacFive!

I grew-up in Alabama, belonging to one the oldest St.Andrew's Societies in the Country. The charter pre-dated the American Civil War, I'm to understand.

The Kirking plan, in the PDF, is from my memories, as a teenager. The prayers & liturgies were written by my wife and myself. Again...reflecting on the images of those past Kirkings.

It does make a nice ceremony!

Well... The Kirking happened today, and went-off quite well, I think. The ceilidh was, also, a big success.

Here is a photo that I received tonight. I will share the rest when they arrive. I wish you all could have been there!

Here is another image that I just received from a wonderful photographer, Miss Karen Bates. She was kind enough to take lots of images of the day; some of which I will post here.

This one is of our drummers!
