My daughter, my niece and I are going to Claddagh's Irish Pub in Westlake, Ohio. They have live entertainment all day. I'll be sporting lots of fun green attire and drinking Smithwicks!

What fun ways are the rest of you planning to celebrate?

Happy St. Paddy's Day to You All!!!!

We are either heading to the twin cities for a GBS convert and other goodies or trying to find something around town. So far there is only one Irish dinner being held by the youth group of our church so it looks like St. Paul/Minneapolis.

Piped the first party of the week yesterday, and have another one Friday. On Saturday I start off at 9:00 AM piping after a St. Patrick's Day mass, then I expect to essentially play pipes all day long, and well into the night.

As some of you may know. Like last year. I was planning on renting a kilt, and going to McCarthy’s St Paddy’s day party. But I’m afraid I’m going to have to amend that, because St Paddy’s day conflicts with a huge impeach Bush demonstration in Washington, which I will be attending instead. Hey, maybe I’ll wear the kilt to that?

Question everything,
JC

John, if you wear a kilt to the demonstration you might run off half the crowd! tongue.gif

Not unless that's someone else's picture in his profile . . . I think it's a grand idea actually. Any act of individualism in this robotic regime is a good idea.

I'll be starting out Friday night playing with an Irish band called Finnegan's Wake at a pub in Bellingham. Then early early Saturday morning (9:30am groan), one of my other bands, Maggie's Fury will play for the Running of the Green, a charity run. Then in the afternoon back to the pub downtown with FW. Immediately after I'll be racing down to Mount Vernon to play with MF at a brew pub/restaurant for the rest of the night.
Follow that up Sunday by skiing up at Mt Baker. That schedule ought to keep me busy if not out of trouble!

We are going to a St. Patrick's Day dance at the moose lodge. Hubby came in from the meeting Wed. nite and said they were going to have a rock n roll band. So I guess I will have to load up my CD's and introduce the rednecks to the right kind of music. biggrin.gif

I'm supposed to go to the parade in Pittsburgh with my sister, then either hit the Steel City Plaza party (they block off over a block of area, and the beer flows freely) or the one in Station Square. Haven't decided yet.

We will begin St. Patrick's Day with Prayer and Green Grits. We will fore go the festivities in Savannah. We will end the day with supper with our Church Family. St. Patrick's Day is my birthday and I do have green eyes, too. We will have a family gathering for a family birthday with my kids and grandkids. cool.gif

Green grits!?

"Green Grits" are a tradition in celebrating St. Patrick's Day in Savannah Georgia. Savannah is the 2nd largest St. Patrick's Day celebration after New York City. The color GREEN is found everywhere including the beer. cool.gif

Happy St. Padric's Day everyone. The weather here is a balmy 28F and we just had a lovely coat of new snow. I hope this day finds you and yours safe, warm, and healthy.

And please remember that no matter how mad, upset, or frustrated with our politicians .........
PLEASE thank a soldier, sailor, airman, or marine for helping us keep the right to voice our opinion.

I agree beer should be Black.

note.gif HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!!!
I am back listening to Celtic Moon...I just love it so! I joined here last night and am still exploring. I have lots to do today tho, like try my hand at Irish Stew...I've never made it before.(any suggestion?Heres what I have available:beef, potatoes, carrots, onions, peas, boullion, bay leaves and other odds and ends. Can I make it?)
I am so happy to be here! I popped outta bed to come and havnt even checked my email or had a cup of coffee!(I did let the dog out tho) We had a snowstorm yesterday and last night and my hubby just went out to shovel 10 or 12".
For this holiday I always make sure my kids and I wear green, and we usually have corned beef and cabbage(even tho I believe thats not really an Irish dish?)I color our pudding and drinks green and I always play Irish music all day. We do no drinking as my hubby is in recovery praise God.(by the way...how do I obtain a password for the serenity forum?) Kathleen

Hi all,

The march on the Pentagon Saturday for me was a little disappointing, at least as far as the turnout was concerned… I’m sure it was lower then I'd had hoped for, because of the sleet storm in the North East corridor. I my self almost didn’t go, based on the icy conditions on my own street, but once we got on the NJT, it was pretty much clear sailing to and from Washington.

Unlike the demonstration I went to in January, there seemed to be a lot more young people at this one, and there was also a large contingent of, “right wing neo-fascist’s biker type,” apposing us. But, fortunately it didn’t get out of hand, although I must admit that I was itching for a fight, since I believe that it’s going to come to that anyway. You know it wouldn’t surprise me at all, if the biker boys weren’t just mercenaries, being paid by this administration. Not that I have anything against bikers in general, I use to be one myself.

I’m sorry to say that I didn’t wear a kilt, or a Hockey helmet to the demonstration, but none the less, I glad I went! Anyway, I hope you all had a good St Paddies day.

Later,
JC
