Hi All.
Sorry I don't get to wander often in the Scottish forums - which is a shame being half Scottish 'n all!!!

Anyway, tomorrow I'm going to start writing an essay on traditional Welsh customs at Christmas, but I had a revolutionary idea...
seen as I am half Scottish, I want to discuss some Gaelic (rather than "Scottish" because I suppose studying Welsh means I have to restrict myself to Celtic matters and I'd like to focus on the Gaidhealteachd as a comparison to the Bro Gymraeg) traditions and customs and do a compare and contrast between the two sister cultures.

Would you be able to give me some website addresses or ideas of where to look for good information?

Do you have/are there any particular customs and traditions you would like me to mention?

I'd be so grateful for all your comments and suggestions and ideas. biggrin.gif

It wasnt till recent times that Christmas was celebrated in Scotland. It was never a holiday, there were very few holidays in Scotland and still that way compared to the rest of Europe.

Hogmanay was the big holiday for the Scots

Good luck on your research
