Anyone else addicted to BBC American's Cash in the Attic????

Such cool stuff and histories they uncover.

Hi Elspeth,

I never heard of the show, but I "googled" their online site and found out a lot about the show - from what they had to say, it looks better than Antiques Road Show. I think it must be interesting to see an auction, especially for a real find!

Anyway, if the show's on cable, I'll probably never see it... sad.gif

Best cheers! Robbie

I love "Antiques Roadshow"/"Cash In The Attic". I especially like to see the peoples' reactions when they're told that some heirloom that's been in their family for 150 years isn't worth a dime.

Yeah, Mike it's funny on Antiques Road show when people learn their stuff isn;t what they thought it was.

Ever see the Vicar of Dibley episode where the village hosts the show and the pompous one takes all his paintings only to find he spent thousands more than they were worth?

Cash in the Attic is a little different than Road show in that the team goes into a house and rummages around to find items to take to auction. The people are raising money for all kinds of things. To get their 38 year old son out of the house, take a vacation, get a car, start a goat farm....

Interesting items and nice UK background scenery.

My favorite "Antiques Roadshow" moment was this one time a lady dropped an "S-Bomb" (bleeped of course) in shock when told that she'd picked up something worth $50,000 for $10 at a yard sale. I just about died laughing, hearing censored.gif -out foul language on PBS.

BTW, one of the other PBS stations (we have three here in the Chicago area) carries "Cash In The Attic" on Saturday nights.

Can you tell I have no social life biggrin.gif ?
