The weather reports indicate heavy snow in the greater Boston area. Anybody seen or heard from Celticradio/Macfive today.? unsure.gif

a winter storm warning remains in effect until 3 am est saturday.

this winter storm warning is for all of southern new england

at 700 this evening...the back edge of the heaviest snow was pushing
into central massachusetts. this back edge is expected to reach
worcester and providence around 730 pm...and east coastal ma between
8 and 9 pm. until then...along the north shore of massachusetts...
increasing northeast winds will bring a short period of blizzard
conditions.

afterwords...across the interior the snow will taper to snow

national weather service skywarn spotters have received reports of

to the heavy...wet snow.

northeast winds will continue to increase tonight...especially across
eastern massachusetts and rhode island. this will result in considerable

storm total accumulations of 8 to 12 inches are expected by midnight

I went snow plowing last night at 6pm. I plow 5 commercial lots which usualy takes 2 1/2 hours.....last night due to 6 1/2 inches of snow and heavy drifting I got back home at 11:30 pm.
Only thing left to dso is is blow out my driveway and walks. Good luck with the storm, and remember if you are shoveling take time to warm up the mscles and take regular fequent breaks. I don't want to hear about any of our members having heart attacks. This is no joke even people in their late 30's have suffered heart attacks shoveling snow.

The Scots of course insist that the pipes produce music. But the point is after all not too important. For those who love them, the pipes can evoke more vividly than any other instrument, high emotion, they can inspire valor, and tell of tragic tales of battles long ago. They can call forth merriment or sentiment. It does not matter what the sound is called, those who are deaf to its merits would not understand anyway.

I live in the town right next to CR, we got about 8-10 inches. Certainly nothing to get excited about when you live in New England tongue.gif , so I don't think we have to worry about anyone getting snowed in (unless you live in my great white homeland up north smile.gif ).

I am in Central Massachusetts. (Fitchburg/Worcester area) We have been digging out constantly for the last few days!!!!
There are some people in the Fitchburg/Lunenburg area who still do not have power from LAST WEEK'S ICE STORM!!!!! Some of you in the Boston area have probably seen the town of Lunenburg on the news...unfortunately, Unitil, our local power company has NOT been responsible!!!!! mad2.gif mad1.gif
I am thankful that I had power restored in about 6 days.....It has been a hard week!!!!!!!!
I do hope that all that read this will continue to be thankful for family, and the things that we take for granted THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!!!!
There area many in the small towns of Central Massachusetts that have been affected by the worst storm in YEARS!!!!

Wow! How does everyone heat their homes with no power? My son is a lineman and before his current employer he would go out of state to help with the ice storms, not as far North as most of you though. He remarked how everyone would bring warm drinks and make an effort to tell the linemen how they appreciate their work.

My heart goes out to everyone! Stay safe.

That ice storm was unbelievable. We were very fortunate that we just missed it in my town. We got mostly rain.
I had to go on a rescue run to get my inlaws in Worcester. Right when I went to the very next town it was like someone pulled up a curtain and there was the wall of ice. Trees were giant icicles. Tree tops were sheared off and splintered all along the way.
In Worcester wires were down, limbs were everywhere. It looked like a war zone.
Never seen anything like it.

How are we doing?? Loving life. It's Christmas Eve! My daughter just jumped back in bed because she said she wanted Xmas to come sooner!

All families finally have their power back, some took almost a couple of weeks though.
Well believe it or not after the ice storm and then about a foot of snow a few days ago....it's raining today. Life in New England.
