[FONT=Times][SIZE=1][COLOR=red]For me the most beautiful Scottish song , of which their are many, has got to be "CALEDONIA" by Dougie Mac Lean. This song is full of the yearning by a scotsman who works away from home, in the hustle and bustle of a big city. he yearns for the peace of home the simplicity and friendliness of home.Evry time I hear this song tears fill my eyes , noy many can do that.Try and hear this or request it. This song was used for 2009 Scottish "Homecoming" promotion worldwide.

Rhymer I'll agree no one can sing it as well as Dougie MacLean. He is one of my favorite singers. I think he is one of the first Scottish singers I heard for the first time. Nice choice.

I still prefer Alex Beaton's rendition of this song, which is truly a work of art!

I love this song. Memorized it after the first few times I heard it which was the Scotland Homecoming commercial version. Now I'm trying to put a decent guitar melody to it. I like Dougie's version and I like the way Celtic Thunder adds bagpipes to it. Still the Tennent's Lager version (while a bit fast) is the best video for it

Yes I agree , the Tennents Lager advert is the best video for this song. In fact Frankie Miller recorded a superb version of the song also.

Echoing Rhymer... Caledonia is the best. Love Phil Coulter's instrumental version, as well as Celtic Thunder and Dolores Keane's versions. Though written about Scotland it is a song you can relate to no matter where you are from.
