's docha nach robh mi nam dhuisg ceart hehe - probably I wasn't quite awake

Tha mi airson gharrachadh ...

Tha sin ceart , tms - That is right , I think

Bha latha gu math caochlachadh air an t- Eilean -it was a very changing day on the Island (i. e. the weather changed a lot)

grian, uisge, grian, uisge ... agus gaoth , gu nadarach - sun, rain, sun, rain ... and wind, of course

tha sin a' ciallachadh - that means

chan eil na cubhlagan a-muigh - there arent any midges out biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Chi mi a-rithist sibh - I will see you again smile.gif

Cha toil leam cubhlagan! laugh.gif
I hate midges!

Uill, bha i uabhasach fliuch fad an latha an-dè
Well,, it was very wet all day yesterday

Agus tha an t-uisge ann a-rithist an-diugh.
and it's raining again today

No, mar a channas iad ann an Geàrrloch -
or as the say in Gairloch -

'Bha e cho fliuch bha e ri poit lit' laugh.gif
'It was as wet as a pot of porridge'

Hehe. Dh' ionnsaich mi am fear sin nuair a bha mi a' leughadh litir bheag 2
Hehe. I learned that one when i was reading little letter 2

Bu chòir dhuibh uile iad a leughadh
You all should read them

Tha mi a' smaoineachadh gu bheil iad math dhà-rireabh airson Gàidhlig ionnsachadh
I think they are excellent for learning Gaelic

Bha Ruairidh a-mach air an dà-shealladh agus taibhsean an t-seachdain seo
Rory was on about the second-sight and Ghosts this week

agus bha e glè innteaneach mar as trice
and it was very interesting as usual

Eadhon mur eil sibh gan tuigsinn...
Even if you don't undersand them...

...tha e math fhathast èisdeach ris a' Ghàidhlig. smile.gif
...it's still good listening to Gaelic

Gheibh sibh iad an-seo-
You'll find them here-

Hallo, a charadean!

I am sorry I have not been around much to do the Gaelic and to write this in English, but I am short on time and trying to catch up.

I have had a couple of crazy two weeks with everything happening from my car breaking down twice to hubby needing my help and preparing for our trip.

Cu Dubh, I leave for Oregon this Sunday morning and won't be back till next Sunday. I will take pictures for you all so you can see what a beautiful state it is. I hear they have Scottish like weather. Will prepare me for when I get to your soil, eh? laugh.gif

Thank you for the Litir beag site. I put it in my favorites so I can start working on that seriously when I get back. Allen has tried to start me in it, but I have failed him on that project. I am so sorry, Allen. You have worked so hard here and there. sorry it was not appreciated at the other place. sad.gif Thanks too for the meaning of Sith. I had heard once it meant fairy, but when I saw it as a closing, I was confused.

Cu Dubh and Faileas, what do you say in closing in Scotland to one another? We always say Have a good day, but interested in what you all say.

Welcome Elizabeth. Nice to have you here and hope to see you participate with us.

Hello Sonee. You are doing so well with the Gaidhlig. where is Maddie?

You all take care and I will speak to you soon.

Anns a' Ghalltachd canaidh duine rudeigin mar:-
In the Lowlands people say things like:-

Cheerie (Just like the Gaidhlig word Tioraidh) biggrin.gif
or
Cheerio, See ye roon, Bye fur noo, aw the best

Sorry to hear about your car.

Feasgar math a chàirdean!!

Caimar a tha sibh an-duigh?

Ròs, as the saying goes....when it rains it pours!!! I have great sympathy and empathy for you!!! We are now down to one vehicle(the pick-up apparently needing a whole new motor) which is over 15 years old and on it's last legs as well!!! My washing machine went caput the other day. Which now makes 2 non working washers in my house!! A week or so ago my son shut of the fridge, twice, and I had to replace all my groceries, twice!! The ballast in my kitchen light fixture also broke and had to be replaced. It's just one thing after another!!! At least you're getting away from it all!! (Even if it IS with your MIL!!!LOL)

I think I'm going to have to check out that Litre site!! Sounds pretty informative to me!!

Have a great trip Ròs! We'll all miss you terribly here while you are gone!!

Mar sin let
