Did anyone figure out what the test was for in the first place?

]AN EXCERPT FROM A POEM THAT I WROTE ON 10/11/07
WE CAN'T CHANGE WHAT WE HAVE DONE.... BUT ONLY TAKE A LESSON FROM EACH EXPERIENCE AND MAKE THE MOST OF EACH MINUTE THAT WE HAVE LEFT AND TELL OURELVES THAT IT IS OK TO LIVE, LAUGH AND CRY..... PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO GIVE US WHAT WE CAN AND SHOULD EXPERIENCE AND WE NEED TO CHERISH ALL OF THE TIME THAT WE SPEND WITH OURSELVES AND OTHERS MAKING THE MOST OF THE SPECIAL MEMORIES THAT ARE OURS.. AND THE ONES THAT WE HAVE YET TO CREATE WITH THE PEOPLE THAT WE HAVEN'T MET!!!!![/SIZE]

and you thought the test was going to be that easy......
You have one hour to answer the following essay question: Why do most American's give back their vacation time (not take vacation time off) and why is it that other first world country businesses allow their employees more time off than American companies?
This is a closed book, open note test. You have one hour to complete it. Completeness of answer and grammar/spelling will account for your grade.
Oh how I loved those kinds of tests....heh

D- Not enough detail in the reasons behind doing so. No examples of why it's not possible, and too many elipses indicating improper grammar. Better luck next time.
at least that's how my college profs would have graded it. My high school teachers wouldn't have even accepted that as an answer and just flunked me without reading.
elipses????? hey everything is spelled correctly........my franglais must count for something. was the answer incorrect?do americans know how to relax?i mean wars, your president, 9/11,etc must give you some pauses in the thought process. you teachers are all the same, urg!!!mine used to tell me to stop at 100 words!
don't worry too much...it's not like the test really matters anyway. Besides if you're that hung up on a grade you could always do the extra credit work to bring it up.
What was that old test for a systems analyst? There were many parts, but two of them had to do with assembling an AK47 which is completely in pieces (a tiger will be let into the room in 90 seconds), and remove your own appendix using a razor blade, cotton balls, salad tongs and a bottle of peroxide (do not close wound until the work has been inspected). The extra credit essay had something to do with restructuring the UN to retain the decisional balance while removing all future potential of veto or abstention lockups.
