Hey, as long as you keep putting great Celtic music on the net, I'll be happy with whatever schedule. I really appreciate the great job you guys have done, all the hard work it's taken and the vision and dedication to do it. Ya'll are tops in my book. Thanks! Now go have a cold one on me.

I second that and the second round is on me!
Honestly, until I found celticradio, I never bothered with streaming music since my pathetic dial-up connection always made it so darn choppy. Ya'll are the only ones that seem to care about those of us still stuck in the 'olden days'...those who fall outside the highspeed highways due to distance or are just so far out in rural areas that companies who offer any type of highspeed access, also demand half a life's savings plus an arm/leg *if* any even bother to try to get to us.
Keep up the awesome work and know well that all your efforts are not invain. We understand that technical issues do arise from time to time. It's part of the territory and I for one know that I will patiently wait through those times 'cause ya'll are the best!

Lay you down in green meadows amongst the heather for it is there the music calls to your soul and beckons you home.

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
Am still not happy about no requests all night. After all, there's the CelticHearts broadcast for soft Celtic listening. Let's not give up, Snoogans! New World night owls and European listeners unite!

Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing? Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing? Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning? ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
I also am a night person and I liked having uptempo music to help keep the blood flowing. I don't get to listen during the day normally when request are on. If I wanted soft music I could always find it on Celtichearts. I am a preferred member on 365 so I can always get CH. But now, it looks like I will have to listen to another CH without choice, or find another station that keeps the tempo up at night. I don't think that turning off requests at night is at all fair to the people in europe either. I can't listen at work, since there are no computers. Which means I can only listen at night. I'm not bad mouthing the work done here on this site, in fact I have my computer on the site most of the time, sometimes I forget to close the window and I stay on even when I am not home. This is like another family to me, I just wish it could stay the way it was
Ok, just an update to our broadcast schedule. Things seem to be stabilizing with our rotation logic. For you techies out there, we had to learn a new scripting language called PAL which programs the broadcast.
A slight change with the rotation. We have decided to replace our bagpipe hour with pub music Monday - Friday. The bagpipe hour will return once a week.
Our very small childrens time is from 8:00 am - 8:30 am. It includes a Celtic Story (at the top of the hour) followed by a few children songs. I know this will probably not appeal to adults, but the stories are actually quite good. There was an issue with these scripts and I dont think they have ever run properly, but I just identified the issue so tommorow morning you should not hear the same song repeat over and over during this time.
We have made an unpublished change to requests. The queue only keeps 4 songs in there automatically, so your requests will play sooner.
I know there is some complaints with the schedule. We shall evaluate things as we go along and make changes based on listening numbers and stats that we are able to track server side.
Awesome job you all are doing? Do you get paid for this? I'm just curious. Hey you guys are doing great, just remeber it is impossible to please everyone! Keep up the good work!

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.
Things are going to be kinda screwy for a little bit as we are working on the broadcast schedule module. My apologies.
I have also received suggestions on the schedule and I do plan on revising it. But for now, I need it to stay this way until the program guide is completed.
What I can tell you is the web-based program guide is directly linked to our broadcast now. This means that schedules we setup in our broadcast software will automatically appear (real-time) in our web-based program guide. Its not ready for release yet. Perhaps in a few days it will be ready.
SilverDragon, I couldn't agree more. My wife and my sister have both stopped listening completely since the requests have gone the station is too different for them I guess. I have mostly been listening to blues radio using winamp(dot com) which I have to say is making a nice change since I stopped listening to any other music mp3s included when I discovered celticradioDOTnet thanks to a friend of Teannaich. So things change and I for one (well, three is you include my wife and sister) will be putting mp3s back on. It's sad that time zones cause such suffering. Is there anyway the time difference could be built into the script?
