An early happy Fourth of July to all!!!

How are you planning to spend your Independence Day?

I went to my town's Independence Day fireworks show Saturday. I'm thinking of going over to a neighboring town's fireworks show tomorrow, but I'll have to see how the weather holds up.

My family will be celebrating by eating shrimp, crabs, and fish. We usually have a Low Country Boil and have friends and neighbors over to share our blessings. The Low Country Boil is made with fresh Sliver Queen corn, new potatoes, Sweet Vidalia Onions, smoked sausages, crabs and shrimp. cool.gif

2 of my 3 daughters are on vacation this week and the other one has to work so hubby and I are leaving out early in the morning for a bike ride, maybe on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Who knowes where we may go, maybe to Ten Buck Two or Noggietuck...Anyway, I hope everyone here that celebrates the 4th has a safe and happy holiday with friends and family. I do want to catch some fireworks somewhere, this is my first 4th of July off of work in 4 years...

Bessemers, MI 4th parade and fireworks. My old gang of friends and I usually get together for the fireworks every year in the same spot. They open up the football field and shoot the fireworks directly overhead so its pretty cool to lay on the grass and watch them. Tonight is Wakefield's fireworks which are shot out over Sunday lake. Everybody usually watches from the shore line and its usually a small competion between the two towns over who has the better displays.

But plans are always in the hands of the better half. I'm secretly hoping the local rennies will call so I can march in the parade in my new kilt. rolleyes.gif
