May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
P.S. I think that with the radio station being listed on most MP3 player radio tuners now, that we are going to reach 2500 members in half the time it took us to hit the 1000 milestone. I see that number and I'll be glad to remember that I got in practically on the ground floor.

Some men are drawn to oceans, they cannot breathe unless the air is scented with a salty mist. Others are drawn to land that is flat, and the air is sullen and is leaden as August. My people were drawn to mountains- Earl Hamner Jr.
So I guess I have to tell a bit about myself now...
Well, my name is Merel. I'm a 19 years old girl from the Netherlands (though temporary living in Belgium because going to study violin making there). I've been interested in celtic music for about 10 years or so... Some of my fav. bands and singers are: Alan Stivell, Dougie MacLean, Tannahill Weavers, Malicorne (french), Andy Irvine, Dolores Keane etc. etc. etc. I play the guitar and violin myself and I also like to sing and play folk songs (tough I'm not very good at this )

GREETINGS Merelf!!!!!
WoW!!! Violin making! That is very interesting. My Granfather made several when he was alive. That is a very tedious task I'm sure.
I too play guitar and used to play violin ( working on getting back to playing it...sigh) If you like check out the Minstrel's Gallery. There is a collection of Trad. songs we have been compiling. I am hoping to Chord them all out soon. So that anyone can print out the page and have a copy to learn it from with chords!
Good day to all, I have just joined a couple of days ago, and am wondering why I hadn't found you early, this is wonderful. Everything seems to be operating great, love the request line. I will now spend countless hours listening to the great music. As I have gotten older, I have developed a love for everything Scottish, I have always liked Irish and Scottish music, But now it seems I feel that emotion deep inside my soul for this music, especially the bagpipes. I am now in the process of learning the pipes. What a joyous noise. Thanks again Tim Abdon
