We will be there. This is our second year there. It was fun last year. My husband lost the Bonniest knee contest. His prize was a plaque. A piece of wood with a old dinged up doorknob on it. It was pretty funny. He also got a crystal with about the highland games. It is beautiful.

Hi Cynni... Sounds like you both enjoyed yourselves last year. Is your hubby ready for this year's contest? Did he win the crystal? I bet you have it in a place of honor!
This will be our first time at the Gatlinburg games. We are really looking forward to them. Do you plan on being there from Friday to Sunday?
The only other games we have been to are the Glasgow Games, held the first weekend in June. They are really great. Have you been to them?
I would love to be able to go to the games, but I don't think I'll be able to. I've got plans for the Pigeon Forge area next month. I want to go see my favorite country singer ever, whom I have listened to since back in the early 70's. Don Williams will be at the Country Tonite Theatre June 23rd.
My favorite vacation spot is in the Gatlinburg and surrounding areas. Hubby and I always go for a few days in Gatlinburg to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I hope to go again this year. There's a nice Celtic Shop that I like to go in and shop at. I can't remember the name of it...sometimes I get those senior moments! If the name should come to me, I'll let ya' know!
I hope all of you that are lucky enought to attend the games have a wonderful time.
I wish you were going to be at the games, it would have been nice to meet you. Maybe we will get the chance at another of the games later this year.
Gatlinburg is one of our favorite vacation spots as well. We spent part of our honeymoon there too, 36 years ago (May 23rd) and we usually try to spend the week of our anniversary there. Then during the Christmas season, we take our 5 grandchildren to Gatlinburg for a few days.
Is the Celtic shop you mentioned in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge? If you come up with the name of the shop, I would like to visit it next week.
Hi everyone. Was at the Gatlinburg Highland games. Boy they sure was alot of mud there. But it was fun. I think the name of the store you are talking about is Celtic Heritage. My husband and I was there when we heard the playing of wonderful drums. Followed the sound and found the great group Albannach. We have seen them play since 2002, when they were Clann An Drumma. Did anyone see Jacquie and Donnie on the Nascar race last night?
Hi cynni....We enjoyed the Gatlinburg games too. Even the mud couldn't stop us, tho I did manage to get the car stuck in the mud when I tried to park along side the road. Took my hubby and two kind gents to get us out! Went barefoot Sunday after ruining a pair of leather sandals on Saturday. Didn't matter....it was great fun and am looking forward to the Glasgow games tomorrow. We really enjoyed ALBANNACH'S performances, both at the Aquarium and at the games. Bought their new CD and a couple of t-shirts Friday night so we could wear them Saturday. Altogether a great weekend. BGL
