Posted by: Macfive 20-Jul-2006, 12:12 PM
We've entered that great networking and friend making place called "MySpace.com".

Checkout our page over there using the following link:

http://myspace.com/celticradio

If you are a myspace member, please add us as your friend. Thanks!

We've made a few changes to everyone's account settings so that they can now include their myspace contact page in their account settings:

Access here:

http://www.celticradio.net/php/forums/inde...=UserCP&CODE=01

Profile information will now contact a MYSPACE icon as well as when you post a message in our forums.

In its simpliest format, My Space can be used by anyone to setup a contact page that others can then add to their friends list (buddy list).

What makes My Space so interesting is that it has quickly become a central gathering place for alot of people - including alot of musicians.

Will add you. At My Space I am under the name TigerLadyUnchained. Can't have the same name all over. LOL

"Can't have the same name all over. LOL"

Oops, my logic was different when I made an account, but either way I have the same name on myspace that I do here.

Well, maybe just throttle down a bit wink.gif

Thanks for the kind comment about the myspace. The part that got me really hung up was the contact portion. It did take me hours to realize that it was actually a graphic picture.

I had planned on creating a "myspace" type of section on CelticRadio.net; but I think just having a link to each person's myspace is just as good.

What I will be doing very soon is expanding the profile section of every account to include alot more information - such as journal entries, favorite songs and more. I also think the profile edit section needs to be easier to access and I will be expanding the search member function. I'd like to add alot more personal information to the profile for those members that are looking into social networking. It would not be required to enter, only for those that want to social network!

While I already had a MyPlace thing so I could view my niece's page, I will NOT be linking my stuff here to MyPlace! Just too damn much to keep up with! Am I too old to keep up? You DAMN right! One place is enough!

Old? You, Dog? Hey, I can't believe that tongue.gif !

Hey, great avatar! I know this is off topic, but I'd like some background on the photo. Is it historical or more recent?

Have a great one, friend!

You're a fast mover Macfive!!! I'd barely set up myspace and put the URL in my profile here and you added me! lol

My Space has been great for my band. We have had over 51,000 music plays in just a couple of months and are selling CD's all the time.

I know this will be great exposure for CRN.

Welcome to my space Paul and thanks for adding us as friends!!

I too have a myspace site, lunaswallowtail is my name there as someone already had vettegal. Jeez, can't even keep the name. M5, I have an add request into you, and if anyone else wants to add, please do a request. I have Arminta in my friends list, now, how about you?

Posted by: zeryx 29-Jul-2006, 04:23 PM
Macfive - are you going to create a Celtic Radio group that we can all join?

I saw that feature and I will have to look further into it. Sounds like a good idea, what exactly can you do with groups?

Seems like everyone has a "My Space" now. Even Microsoft is creating a site called "My Spaces" which I signed up for and designed a nice looking page. Definitely more "Canned" features like a photo album, blog, and tons of stuff. But they are having problems right now and the MSN "MY Spaces" page for Celtic Radio freezes up when you load it! sad.gif

I am so glad to see CelticRadio.net on MySpace. In response to Dundee's post, MySpace is a wonderful place to track down old friends (I've found many high school friends since moving back near my hometown), and it's a great place to network and find like-minded individuals.

I especially love MySpace Music as it's a great way to hear different bands to see what their music is all about. I have friended MacFive, so once approved CelticRadio will have at least 48 friends. Yay!!!

I am coolmom32 on MySpace.

Slainte!

I can't get myspace to work from the icon here on the forum. Any ideas? It worked before..

It on the list to fix. Basically you should just enter your myspace userid, not the web address, but will have these all fixed and also have the system properly distinguish the correct format.

I've had you linked since the day I made my page... smile.gif

Celtic cat.. I kept my name on myspace... this is actually my name online everywhere... lol.. AIM etc... you can't go wrong with a Kat.. wink.gif

I agree that Myspace rocks finding people.. I have found several friends from highschool.... it's wonderful! Plus it let me re-up my HTML... you get spoiled by the website programs that do everything for you...

I have found A LOT of cool music, videos and information from Myspace... some junk too... it's pretty cool...
