We have made some changes to our Highlander Radio modem stream that has resulted in a substantial increase in sound quality. In fact, I dare to say that you may not be able to tell the difference between our modem vs. broadband stream!

The increase in sound quality is a result of using the mp3pro broadcast driver for both our modem and broadband streams. I do believe you need to be a preferred member to gain access to the special mp3pro plugin, but I do believe there is a way to do it using winamp and downloading the free mp3pro plugin.

I'm not one to dwell on things, but man - this modem stream with the MP3 plugin is just unbelievable. If you are a preferred member and have the enhanced live365 player give it a try. I just can't believe that for only 24kps it sounds so good.

As part of the "Stoneage" group here at CelticRadio.net and Highlander Radio I second Macfive's statement about the 24kps stream. It just gave me another reason why I can wait awhile for broadband.
