I just recently rewatched The Sweet Hereafter. If you've never seen this movie, I can't describe it; all I can say is watch it, but only if you're in the mood to see something that stirs up emotions you can't turn off even long after the final credits.

As well, I watched 1408, the creepfest based on a Stephen King story. Just what you need right before Hallowe'en, lots of ghosties and a plot based on psychological terror instead of gore.

Reign Over Me:
Don Cheadle enhances Adam Sandler’s versatility. Be sure to have tissues on hand, and if anyone ever plays the role Bob Dylan, Adam Sandler has it sowed up.

I watched the first three sections of the BBC series The Celts" last night. Very good even though a bit dated. Would have like to have seen more info in some places. For example they never get into the reason that Brodicca (probably spelled wrong) waged ar against the Romans. Otherwise it still had a ton of info. Worth the money.

Elizabeth-The Golden Age.

Good historical facts but a wee bit too romanced for my taste. The costumes are sumptuous and maybe that is where it got a bit on my nerve. It was more like a fashion show from Cate Blanchet. Geoffrey Rush is just fantastic and I just love this actor. Good movie for historical romance fans.

Hi all,

Out of curiosity, I went to see Beowulf. Now, I read the book back in Junior High, but I guess I didn't read the fine print of the movie, because I was expecting a "real" movie and not something that resembles a hi-def video game - everything in the movie is digitized via computer - the actor's faces are "lifelike", but they still look like a hi-tech cartoon.

I won't give away anything, but I don't think I ever spent more time looking at my wristwatch to see if it was going to be over soon - I felt like I was trapped in an X-Box!

If you are a gamer and like the look of hi-def animation, then this might appeal to you, however, I thought this was a real snooze-fest of a movie, even when there was action and horror, it wasn't very scary.

The best part of my experience was that the two-scoop ice cream cone I had during the beginning was delicious! thumbs_up.gif

Best cheers! Robbie

Ah, thanks for the warning, I was going to go see that, but I thought it was real people too. I'm not about to go see an animated action move.
