I've been listening to Celtic Radio on Shoutcast for some time but never thought to join - I'm glad I did and I look forward to meeting friends that share the same love as I for great Celtic music.

Hi Robbie, from the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona! Glad you decided to come and take a look around! It's great to have you here and I know that you are really going to enjoy the site.
Welcome aboard and have a great day!

Thank all of you for welcoming me - I appreciate your sincerity and your warmth!
It's good to be here - I feel that this will be a good experience and I look forward to sharing and helping where I can.
Although I love the pipes and drums of battle, it's good to listen to the soft, welcoming voice of a balladeer singing of things that are peaceful. I work in computer technology and it's good to have a respite from things that go buzz...!
I see that you're in NC at Fort Bragg - many years ago I was in a little out-of-the-way place in SC known as Parris Island. Hopefully you are having more fun at FB than I did at PI, but then they are different in nature... Whereas FB is known as the "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces", PI was only ever known as the "Home of Dirty Grunts Getting the Sh*t Beat Out Of Them". But I'm not bitter...
Have a great week and I truly appreciate the work you're doing!
Thank you for your welcome - I'm happy to be here! One thing that resonates with me is that many folks here are like-minded, and not just about Celtic music or culture, but things that are going on right now and things that matter.
Lady of the Loch posted an item concerning the banning of child pornography, which I checked out and am now passing to all I know in our church and neighborhood to help support this worthy cause.

Yes Fort Bragg is okay and we like it here very much - that's why the Army just decided to send us elsewhere. We are going back to my homeland Germany. It will be a cultureshock for me since I haven't been there for the last 10 years.
BTW my husband is the one in the Army but the thanks are appreciated and will be forwarded to him. I am serving only by washing the uniforms and keeping the boots clean - which is now even harder with the new sand colored suede boots.
I have never been to Germany - all my time was in Asia. I do know what you mean, though - go away for even half the time you've been gone and things will have changed!
Hope you have a good move - my aunt and uncle were both 30-year career Army and they were moved everywhere except the moon! Each of my three cousins were born in different countries - I guess that's why the youngest one has "Made in Japan" on his backside...
BTW - nice cycle! I used to ride in WV when my wife and I lived on the east coast - it has some of the most beautiful scenery around as well as some good roads. Back in the day, I scraped a few knees along the Monongahela River and around the Paw Paw Creek - good memories!
Thank you for your welcome - I'm glad to be here and look forward to getting to know you and the rest of the clan!
One reason I like here is not only the fantastic music I get to listen to while writing you, but because I can just take a deep breath and relax! I belong to other forums which deal with computer and electronic engineering - when I go online there I'm either asking for help because I'm stuck and desparate, or I just figured out something new and want to tell others about it. I think this forum is great because it's like family - warts and all! I can be myself and not worry too much about criticism - and that's worth a lot in this day and age!
Blessings to you and yours - have a good week, too!
