Guys out now! We see ya peeking in here! Out wit ya!
Caution: THIS ROOM IS FOR FEMALES ONLY! and may included subjects that may embarass the men folk...such as Who colors their hair. The names of individuals has been changed to protect the innocents!
We girls use to have a thread that was for us girls only and we could discuss anything and everything in there. Somewhere along the way we lost that thread and the guy only thread reminded me of our room being gone.

There's a dear little plant that grows in our Isle Twas St . Patrick himself, sure, that set it; And the sun of his labour with pleasure did smile, And with dew from his eye often wet it. It grows through the bog, through the brake, through the Mireland, and they call it the dear little shamrock of Ireland.
On the other thread we talked about hormones! Some of you young uns' don't have to worry about that now. You know the old hot flashes, and mood swings. We always had the guys to come in and state their opinions, for what they were worth!
BTW Girls, have any of you seen the music video by Terri Clark, Girls Lie Too? Fantasy! Johnny Dep or Wayne Newton!
Hmmm....my dream job! Astronomy, definately. I could look at the stars for the rest of my life!
And I would have to go for Johnny Depp, maggiemahone, but I haven't seen Teri's video. My daughter is into country music, but not me.
Wandering off topic here (since my mind only functions in 'wander' mode anyway! ) I have always wanted to start a topic for us single moms out here - kind of a support network or what have you. What do ya'll think?

My dream job? To be a full time writer. I dabble now, but I have so many ideas for books that I'd like to explore, but with a full time job, one that requires overtime at that, there's not so much time for all that creativity to pour out. As it is now, I try to take at least a few hours to write at night, but sometimes I am just too tired!
As for the single mom's thread. I'd say post it and see where you get. The only thing I am a parent of is an Australian Shepherd, so my helpful hints would be more geared to "bap them on the nose."

So, I have an new site that is pretty neat, Check out Dannah's Home Page

Dream job huh? Wow! I want to make it to Hollywood and direct and produce some very good movies. I love fantasy movies, we need more of them. A movie I would have loved to work on is Peter Pan. It looks like it was fun. Red carpet here I come! I'm going to have to say Johnny Depp. Drink up me 'earties yo ho! I'm not a mother of anything but your idea sounds great!

Yes, I do miss that thread and I am glad you brought it back, Annebelle.
As for my dream job, hmmm... It would have to do something with art history. Traveling perhaps.... if you could fit that into one job that would be my dream job. I also would love to collect art and books, have my own personal library... sigh...
Johnny Depp, no question... I think I've talked about him before...

I think it's a great idea to start a thread about Single Moms! Everyone would benefit from the support and sharing of different approaches, and insights.
As to my Dream job....that's just it, I do a lot of daydreaming. There are times when I wonder if it's too late to become a Garden Designer. I'm always making notes to myself while browsing through my favorite catalogs, imagining which plants will go well together and where to put them. Of course, our budget doesn't allow for the thick plantings that I dream up! But I enjoy trying out different plant combinations in my mind, all the same. Now, if I could put those dreams and ramblings into a real garden........!! When I'm not dreaming about gardening, I think that someday I'd like to learn to be a potter. My Grandfather had his own Wheel, made his own slip, and did very well with it as a second business. He used to let us kids have a go on his wheel, and I enjoyed it very much. It was hard to make the clay do what I wanted it to do, but I think it would just take practise and patience, like everything else. I'd set up my studio at the edge of the woods (which is where my garden would gradually end, of course!), and let design ideas come from Nature. How's that for Dreaming!?

I have two dream jobs.................can I have more than one? I would want to be a full time fine artist by night and a make-up artist by day! somehow the dreams got lost!
