Maryland has lost one of our Irish Dancers and her father.

Amy was not in my dance school, but we've seen her at the various local competitions. Her school's competition dresses are hard to miss since they are bright red! It's sad to think that lives can end and change so easily. Please keep their family in your prayers. This is the e-mail we received from the school's director, Maureen Berry:


The Teelin School of Irish Dance deeply grieves the loss of dancer and friend, Amy Martin.

Amy and her father, Doug Martin, both passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2006 after having been caught in a riptide off Ocean City, Maryland. Amy's mother, her five sisters, and all family and friends remain in our thoughts and prayers. Funeral service information will be shared here as soon as it is available. We have created a memorial page on our website which will become a place for our dancers and friends to share fond memories.
