I think this song might be set up incorrectly, it shows 4+ minutes left but it cannot be rated.

I think I've noticed this previously but any attempt to rate a song that is on this album (Healing Angel by Roma Downey) results in the rating failed, next song loading message. |

I thought there was another thread where I'd mentioned some purchases but I've done more since then. But, all of my music purchases in the past three years are based what I've heard on CelticRadio.net (with the exception of the Young Dubliners, they need to send you music)
From what I can distinctly recall purhcasing
Aselin Debison - Sweet is the melody Great Big Sea - Live album Barleyjuice - What's up yours The Elders - 4 disc pack of everything (new CD coming out soon by the way) Brendan Nolan - Where do I go from here and Across the great divide Young Dubliners - Real World Carbon Leaf - Echo Echo and Indian Summer John Whelan - Celtic Roots
[edit] Stepped out for lunch and was reminded I also picked up Scott Long - In and out of the harbor [/edit] |

Pardon me for not reading the entire thread, but does the Null vote automagically disqualify you from doing a "real" vote? I thought I'd look at the results before I voted and now it says I have already voted.
And yes, the PSA prompted me to dig this thread out. |

A Kansas City welcome to you, where abouts in the state are you at? I can't recall who, but I know we've got someone from the St. Louis area on the board as well. |

Artist: Mara Freeman Song: The Legend of the Oldest Animals Album: Celtic Tales of Birds & Beasts
When I went to rate this song, it told me the next song was loading but it was nowhere near the end of the song so I think the ids are off on this one. |

I don't play a lot of games but right now I am pretty well hooked on World of Warcraft. Beyond that, I have Neverwinter Nights installed and Tribes 2. At work, our group plays games during lunch (bonding activities) so there I have Quake III Arena, Unreal Tournament, Halo and Half-life installed. All older games but they run fine on the machines here.
Really, any game that requires thought vs twitch gaming is likely to pique my interest. I don't have it anymore, but I loved The Incredible Machine. It was a great game, basically you needed to use a random set of parts to get a marble to move from start to finish. |

We've got MC down pretty pat and are starting on BWL. I definitely wish you the best of luck with it. The one thing I will say is that once you start getting geared up the begining parts of MC will be so much easier. I look back to us in Spring/early Summer and heaven help us if it was a double fire lord to begin with. |

Stormreaver (PVP), Alliance and I'm in Æon. My primary is a 60 Nightelf Druid and I have all the other classes with a druid repeat ranging from 21 to 38. I love my druid, played one in open beta and started opening day. The others have been fun to play on, learn their strengths and weaknesses, test out all the professions but at heart, there is too much utility in the class for me to identify with anything else. |

Beer Bread
I've since lost the original recipe from my Mom but what's in memory is:
1 can of flat beer (non-flat works for me) 2 tablespoons of sugar or honey 3-4.5 cups of self-rising flour
Pour beer and honey/sugar into a bowl. Add flour by the cupfull and stir/mix/knead until it's a bread consistency. Still tacky but not wet. Toss into an oven at 375 until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean ~45 minutes to an hour. While still hot, rub a stick of butter/margarine over the top of it to taste. For extra buttery goodness, pierce the loaf with a knife and then rub the butter on it.
The type of beer you use does not matter for bread creation but it will influence the taste and color of the final loaf. Guinness makes a nice brown loaf that tastes heavenly. Budweiser makes a light colored bread that has a milder taste. Experiment and have fun. |

I've enjoyed some of GBS's music but I caught the live version of Boston and St. Johns and something about it just hooked me. Then it was General Taylor. Then When I'm Up, Consequence Free and now I'm on a Jack Hinks kick. I ended up buying their live CD with an eye toward adding more music as time and money permit.
AA, I'm jealous, you'll have to tell us how the concert goes. |

Just to second the notion of finding your local pipe band, I know the Kansas City St. Andrew's Society Pipe band (whatever their official title is) offers free lessons to all willing to learn. It won't take you to master piper level but can at least get you started and then you can usually get one of them to be your teacher. My dance instructor's son is in it and I know he teaches people. I can't recall what he charges for individual lessons but I wanted to say it seemed reasonable.
It's on my to do list at some point but for now I just enjoy hearing them.
Finally, Emmet your description cracked me up, even if it is accurate. |

Not to thread-jack but since Rindy asked, I thought I'd throw out a link to one of the photographers that was out at the KC Ren Fest. We were out there 8-10 October this year and had a blast as always. Our group goes from that picture until you meet the Royal Sissies or whatever term they call the Queen's men-in-waiting, probably about 10 or so pics. My friends kept giggling about how swishy my kilt was but I didn't realize just how swishy it was until I saw these pics. Good thing I'm not one to get embarassed.
Otherwise, things are good but busy. Performance-wise, dance is winding down but we still have plenty of classes to keep me in shape so that's good. Work has kept me far too busy for the past month or so but I suppose it better to have work to do than none at all. Thanks for thinking about me. Hope all is well with you and everyone here. |

Stretching perhaps? Clench and unclench your toes before you put on your ghillies. Maybe grab the toes as a single unit and push and pull them so they hit their full range of motion. Stand so the feet are flat on the ground and then raise up on one leg so it stretches. The goal is to keep the toes flat on the one leg and to pivot on the joint where the toes meet the foot. Hard to describe but it feels like it stetches that joint to me.
Other things to do would be just general leg and ankle stretchings. Make circles with your feet, stand a few feet away from a wall and lean forward to stetch the calves, lower yourself off the edges of steps one leg at a time with just the toes supporting you. I do lots of things like that to stretch out before class. You might also check with your instructor, see if s/he has any thoughts. The other thing I'd say beyond congratulations on getting out there is that you will be sore for some time as you develop muscles you didn't know you had.
As always, be sure to check with your doctor and to stop if you feel any sharp or sticking pains. |

You might have better luck and save a few dollars checking out Wal-wart and their like to get a bandanna with a skull and crossbones vs a real flag. A store that sells motorcycle gear would probably have them as well. |

Eye patches, perhaps a hook or peg leg? Not really sure how you'd get the peg leg, maybe just something like a boot with it drawn on there. I like the treasure map idea. Perhaps a small chest they could lug around with a shovel? Cardboard ought to work well to make both of them. |

My first thought was that it was a saw and even though not designed for hitting CCA treated lumber, perhaps that was why it was on there. Unfortunately my chemistry is far to rusty and probably still lacking at that, to determine whether the Chromium in the lumber is a hexavalent compound. |

I have only caught them on CR but I enjoy them. They've got a different sound and it's just peppy! I find them a nice break from the traditional sound with enough celtic sound to them to feed the soul. |

Ok, and now I just had the reverse. After Heather Dale's Inspiriation finished, The Rankin Family were playing and I was enjoying it because it wasn't The Mull River Shuffle and so I went to see what it was. Inspiration at -2 minutes I hit refresh but to no avail. Pulled up IE and still the same. The song finished and up pops the Mull River Shuffle [live].

I've noticed this a few times now. I will see Aselin Debison queued up on the Next To Play list on the now_playing.php page. When it comes to her song, it never even starts, just drops off into the æther. It doesn't show in the having played list, just disappears. This morning, ~9:30 CST, she was sandwiched between The Proclaimers: Scotland's Story and Fine Crowd: Banks of Nfld and after the Proclaimers finished, up came Fine Crowd.
Anyone else notice this going on? |
