This article details how the Amy's own charity, Army Emergency Relief, short changes our soldiers and vets. While many of them serving in Iraq and Afganistan desperately need financial help to keep thier homes or feed their families, the Army hoards millions in the charity.

I get almost daily requests for donations to help soldiers in emergency situations. Until that article broke I didn't know why. When I was in the Military, the Military took care of it's own. I am aware that many of the severely wounded today are dumped on their families as there isn't money to care for them. That will eventually mean that we will all become citizen soldiers/patriots again.

Ptch;

Tis always the way. We ask these young people to shed their blood or loose life or limb for us but when the shooting is over people don't want to be reminded what it cost. Out of sight out of mind. Any Nation that treats it vets like lepers has no honour.

All Honour to the Fallen.

PS Read Tommy Atkin's by Rudyard Kipling.

I have often said that any group who fails to honor those who fight for it should fight its own wars. It is even worse when the MILITARY will not take care of its own.

I personally know some horror stories of injuries resulting from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. PBS provided even more in a documentary.

For the above reasons and many more, I feel that the "commander in Chief" must be a person with military experience (at least in this country). I would not serve under anyone with less. Think about it! Thanks for the reading info.
