I know I haven't been around very long, but I feel I've got a decent grip on the game play. As I am building I am noticing that food seems to be harder to come by than either gold or wood. I have a good ratio of mines/farms/camps as well as the workers required in each line of work, (at least what I feel are anyway). At first I assumed my numbers were off and adjusted a little more towards farms and such as I built. Things are coming along and overall production has increased across the board as a result, but food still drags behind everything else. I'm curious if I'm personally doing something wrong or if this is a common trend amongst the community.

Food does seem to drag,if only they would eat the wood I would feel a whole lot better. I add some workers to the farm but that didn't help much.

Hmm...Maybe we need a feature that will "teach" them to use some of the wood for building a fire to roast items. Like a boar for a feast, or gathering wood on a march for roasting elk to feed your armies. Seems like a 6 month march to a kingdom should require a stop for some food.

I have the same problem...food is indeed very slow in coming no matter how many workers you have on the farms...I would suggest a "whip" as a feature to have them work and produce food instead of eating it as they harvest.... ohmy.gif

For during battles one can see the food ration drop fast enough and to recover afterward it takes an eternity.

I thought this was just a fluke thing but this seems to be the case within Bruce clan as well. Food does seems like it's dragging a bit. I'm curious if this is a game "feature" that is cycling right now. It would make sense if you think about it because nothing in real life is that "static". It should naturally fluctuate from season to season for realisim in the game. I'm quite curious if this indeed is a feature. Who would we ask about such a thing?

I can only respond on what I see- first, yes I agree that food seems to be the major limiting resource on army building.
I'm not going to give actual numbers, but here goes:
I have the same number of workers assigned as farmers as I have assigned as lumberjacks. I have 25% more gold miners than farmers or lumberjacks.
I have the same number of gold mines as I have farms. I have half that number of lumber camps.
All technologies are researched (and have been for quite some time).

As far as hourly income goes, mine has been increasing steadily compared week to week.
As of today:
The resource I gather the least of is wood. (expected, as I have fewest lumber camps versus other buildings)
Food gathering is 6.5% more than wood. (yes, that's six and one-half percent)
Gold income is approximately 47.5% higher than my wood generated.

Yes, I actually check out what my hourly income is at least once per week. tongue.gif

No, I haven't seen a decline in the amount of food generated- but I do agree that it is what limits my army-building the most.

It's been said before, but buildings (mines, farms, lumber camps) have a bigger impact on resources gathered than workers do.

This would have sufficed nicely. But thanks again for um...so elaboratly describing your setup in your cryptic little way you so seem to enjoy using anywhere you post. thumbs_up.gif

Paul,

This is getting ridiculous...really the food income does not come close to be even with the gold and wood.
Now, we all know that harvesting takes a bit longer but once things are ready to harvest well then it comes in quickly I only have to look at my garden and tomatoes and really I have to throw some away 'cause I can't keep up eating them...

With all the numbers of workers and the farms I own it shouldn't be.

Please would it be possible for you to adjust the timing on the food income. Otherwise my soldiers will turn on cannibalism... taz.gif I certainly don't want that to happen.

Again, I don't agree with this. I have food, but keep running out of lumber. This is why the market exists. Right now, there is 1.2 million units of food for sale there.
I've bought over 1 million units of wood so far, and if food income increases any more it would have a serious negative impact on me.

Why don't you put some of your excess wood on the market, and when it sells use that income to buy food?

Pretty much the same situation here for me. Food has leveled off and wood production seems to be declining. When I started the game wood came in droves for me.

I'm sticking to my "cycling" theory. I think be default these items rise and fall throughout the kingdoms for a better sense of realism.
