I saw The Phantom of the Opera recently, and WOW!!! It was amazing! I'm not usually a big fan of musicals, but this one wasn't over the top at all. Minnie Driver was hilarious as Carlotta. And we've discussed that gorgeous Scot who plays the Phantom... Yowza! Gerard Butler may be the tastiest thing to come from Scotland in a very long time!

Hey girls! Gerry's next movie is Beowulf and Grendel. And yeah, he looks amazing, even spending hours on end in cold mud up to his knees.
The movie has a website, beowulfandgrendel.com, and there are some especially tasty pics to be viewed there. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone! I postponed my party to today so my sister-in-law can make it, and we'll probably be eaten alive by mosquitoes trying to grill burgers, but I've never let a few blood-suckers spoil my fun before. tongue.gif

We watched 'Taking Lives' a few nights ago and I really enjoyed it. thumbs_up.gif thumbs_up.gif A suspenseful thriller; not too many of those are either suspenseful or thrilling anymore, it seems.

Do you remember when the media didnt have a field day over everything.

Yes, I think so... Wasn't that before the rise of Ted Turner and the 24-hour news network? Oy. A slow news day at one of those places must me absolute unmitigated h*** for the folks that work there. 'Cause I know I can't stand to watch it on a slow news day!

Oh, I wanna pass this around. May I? That's hilarious!

Feel free to do so it does not belong to me! My daughter , who lives in Fla , sent it to me from one of the papers down there.

Thank you! My folks left on vacation yesterday and they had to change their plans; originally they were going to Florida. The backup plan was Hilton Head -- I need to do a bit of editing to that picture and give them a heads-up about Jeanne..... Apparently, they're just going and if there's an evacuation, they'll come home early. blink.gif

  When politicians were honest?

Wow. I'd like to book a trip into that alternate universe.
Guess maybe it depends on what the definition of 'honest' is. But then, did we ever determine what the definition of 'is' is?

<h3>A COPPER Dragon Lies Beneath!</h3>
<img src="http://www.abednarz.net/dragons/drcopper.jpg" border=1 alt="My inner dragon color is COPPER. Click here to try the Quiz!"><br>
</a>

Your Inner Dragon is the mighty warrior of dragon-kind. It's just that simple. Coppers show up when someone's about to die. Usually they just go ahead and take out his best friends too, just so he won't be lonely in the afterlife. Coppers don't mess around, and they don't play evil games like Red Dragons. They don't bother with magic, like Gold Dragons. They don't run and hide like White Dragons. They're there to do a job, and they do it well. (Think Special Forces...)

But what sort of a dragon would you be if that really was the whole story? You also like to stomp your enemies, incite human rebellions, start the occasional war, and spend lazy hours preening your battle aura. Your favorable attributes are strength, physical abilities, thriftiness, warmth, and longevity in battle. Just in case some puny human (or conniving Red Dragon) thinks they can get the drop on you, you've got a concealed breath weapon - gigantic masses of Fire. Hey, it's the tried and true way to cook a cow in 0.75 seconds. Use it well, my friend.

Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

MDF3530 Posted on 15-Sep-2004, 04:23 PM That was one of the first two DVDs, along with John Carpenter's Vampires, I ever bought.

Here we go again, MDF..... you bought John Carpenter's Vampires? (shudder!) I was dragged to that flick for my fiance's birthday -- proves it was love! -- and thought the soundtrack would drive me right to the looney bin. Did he sample that from some 30-year-old porn flick he had in his private stash? Ye gads. Over, and over, and over..... dry.gif

I was honestly disappointed in it, actually; I really like James Woods.

Uh, but I love The Matrix! biggrin.gif

Yeah, it was a good movie. I don't know why they were showing it on NBC just as a massive hurtacrane was heading in though.

I thought that was rather poor taste, myself. But then again, no one probably remembers this, but the night after JFK Jr. died they showed 'So I Married An Axe Murderer' on TV. There's a line in it -- "We have a piper down." The line referred to a bagpiper, but Jr. crashed his Piper..... yeah, you're right, I'm the only freakazoid that noticed.

Anyhoo, watched 'Man on Fire' with Denzel Washington last night. Great movie. Sad, don't watch it if you're out of Prozac, but it was great.
