Is it okay if I say HIDY HO GOOD NEIGHBORS? Did you know that I've missed everyone SOOO very much??? Isn't it great to have good friends like you guys? Has everyone been behaving while I was gone? HMMMM???? You probably wouldn't like it if I had to warp you now would you? biggrin.gif

Did you know I was at work when you posted this? Otherwise, I'd have said,"Hey Wiz, buddy, how you doin'?" Good to see you, don't you know? Us behave? Have you gone senile? Is it past my bedtime again? Good night...morning...whatever. wink.gif

Several years ago I was on the beaches of the Outer Banks. A lady approached me and told me a short history of the Quahog shell. From that point on I searched for the beautiful purple pieces of shell and have acquired quite a collection of it. Isnt it a beautiful shade of purple?

No, I dont like seafood. I love the sea, but would rather have a slab of cow to eat. I've only found a few whole shells and the broken pieces have become harder to find lately. What do you all do with the shells once you eaten the muscle?

QUOTE (Dogshirt @ 22-Aug-2006, 11:19 PM)
Yes, it is. But then nothing is ever as grand as the things nature creates. We have a beautiful agate that is only found in a small area of our county. It is called the Ellensburg Blue and comes in shades of blue from sky blue to "new jeans" blue.
It is hard to find even in the area where it IS found, but people come from all over to look for it.

Wow Dogshirt. That is a beautiful stone!!! I was speaking of shells so I assumed you were too, but this agate is a precious stone. One website I found commented this.... First discovered by the Kittitas Indians who inhabited the area, and in 1913 offered this advice on finding the agates, one should “Walk with the sun over your left shoulder.” Have you had much luck in finding this stone?

My dogs dig them up from time to time and I have found them in my driveway and in one of my flowerbeds. When I find them I put them in a tobbaco humidor I have and save them. They are getting harder to find as the land gets sold off and closed to the public. My dream is to get enough to have a plaid brooch made with 5 matching stones, but I don't have them all yet.

Do you know that all this talk of stones reminds me how much landscaping my wife wants me to do? Dog, did you know that after years of research, we may have finally proven a Native American connection in our family? I'll have to tell you about it sometime!

Do our "Honey Do" lists ever go away? Or even get shorter? When did I last have a weekend ALL to myself? (shakes his head sadly)

Was there a good fire in our town tonight that I had to go and check out?
What does everyone plan to do for the weekend?

Might I go hit a few yard sales on Saturday, since I don't have to babysit? Will the weather cooperate for the German Fest that I will attend on Saturday?

Is everyone posting elsewhere? How often in a day do you stop to post on the website?

Did you know that my wife's dad used to raise chinchillas? Do you know that I need to check out your website, Lynda? Can you believe that the weather forecast calls for sunny weather for the next couple of days?
