The first ever CelticRadio.net Song of the Year will be named on January 1, 2005.
Voting will be done by our community polling system and we will have about 5 songs to choose from.
I'd like to take some recommendations here for songs to be nominated to this award. We will send a award certificate to the winning artist (hey we're on a low budget!). I have a few in mind, but would like to get everyone's thoughts and recommendations.
The song does not have to be released in 2005, but should be a recent song that is played on Highlander Radio. I am thinking no more than 10 years in the past. I am putting such a broad range of years because old songs are sometimes discovered by new listeners!
Voting will begin on December 1st, 2005 until December 31st, 2005 at 11:59 p.m. EST.
Ok, lets have your recommendations!

If I had to pick 5 songs they would be (in no particular order) and picking only 5 songs is a tough one!
1. Send Me A Song - Celtic Woman (David Downey/Lisa Kelly) 2. Erin Gra Mo Chroi [Ireland Love of My Heart] - Cherish the Ladies 3. My Heart Belongs To You - Hayley Westenra {best new artist maybe?} 4. Drink the Night Away - Gaelic Storm 5. South Australia - Gaelic Storm

Senara-ism : Life is like a theatrical production only you get to be actor, director, and audience all at once. So break a leg, sit back and enjoy the show!
"When the waves are high and the light is dying, raise a glass and think of me..." -Gaelic Storm
Cha chòir dòrn a thoirt an aghaidh pòig. A kiss ought not to be met with a fist.
Thig crioch air an saoghal, ach mairidh gaol is ceòl. The world will pass away, but love and music last forever.

The peculiar evil of silencing the expression of an opinion is, that it is robbing the human race; posterity as well as the existing generation; those who dissent from the opinion, still more than those who hold it. If the opinion is right, they are deprived of the opportunity of exchanging error for truth: if wrong, they lose, what is almost as great a benefit, the clearer perception and livelier impression of truth, produced by its collision with error. ~John Stuart Mill, On Liberty, 1859
Education: that which reveals to the wise, and conceals from the stupid, the vast limits of their knowledge. ~Mark Twain
