It isn't edged yet; that'll be the final step (much easier to work with while it's still relatively blunt). Yes; I start the sheath tomorrow. The blade has a full tang, which is peened over a square steel nut, as were the originals:

Very nice!!! I love handwork in a world where everything is being machined. Hope to see more of your work in the future. My coffee table is 50% carved but I haven't had time to finish it. When I get around to finishing it, I'll post the pictures.
