And actually there is an article in the Reader's Digest this month about people going to work on horse back. The only problem they had was where to put the horse downtown?????

I have owned a horse, and found that it was very costly. My sister has 5 now so x the costs x 5- whew....lol.
Don’t know if you folks were serious about buying a horse or not...but thought I would add this....
Horses...well the cost can add up. They need Food, Stable/Boarding if you don’t own the land, Vet bills, Bedding/Shaving, Tac such as Saddle, warming blanket, blanket, bridal, bit.
Horses should eat ½ bale 20 lbs a day which of course can increase or decrease depending on the horses size and if the horse has grazing pastures. Say the standard half a bale your looking at 183 bales of hay a year. The cost will very depending on where you live but say it’s $2.50 that comes to $457.00 Horses also need to eat grain. How are you going to transport the hay to your horse? Fuel prices going up also makes the cost of hay to go up...
If your horse is ill and can’t walk to the vet here comes the catch unless the vet comes out, you will need to transport your horse which means big truck-eats gas and a trailer. Costs and more costs. Plus-you ride out in the open say to town you have to have warm clothes etc, as a car has windows, heater...ahhh
I'm sure I have left a ton out. Not sure which would be better a horse or a hybrid car. ok...just my opinion. Interesting thought though.
The downside of a car is it can’t love ya back..that I know of..lol...
ok, sorry to carry on about horses....you really got me thinking on this one..
Gas is $3.19 a gallon here. I heard prices may be going down some I do hope so..
In Sydney Australia is's$1.49 for unleaded ,that's really high for us but globally quite cheap I think Hi by the way it's Fiona here I'm new . Hello to all
