We are majorly psyched for the new Indy movie. Watched the trailer several times and are pretty much counting down the days. May is going to be a busy month at the movies - there are a couple more good ones coming out, too. Price Caspian, Indy, seems like there is something else but it eludes me right now.

I recently got Season 3 of Stargate SG1 and watched an entire DVD of it last night - 5 episodes! I can't believe how many of those shows I actually missed - I think only one of the ones I watched last night I remembered seeing before. I'm slowly collecting all the seasons as they come on sale - this one was $24.99 at Best Buy. Couldn't resist - I talked my sweetie into buying it for me as an early birthday present. Although I think he kind of doubts that, come July, I'll remember that I already got something. wink.gif

My oldest is a big Stargate fan. I saw the movie when it came out and that was the last time. It was good entertainment.

I get to the movie theaters when a friend comes to visit from Denmark, he's a huge movie fan.

Keep on whipping!!

Whipping is becoming quite a pastime in my household. With the arrival of a new 8-footer, we now have two whips - one very, very broken in and one that's still got that "new whip" smell. (Kind of like new car smell).

There's a guy on Youtube who used to make what he called the "Indy on a Budget" whip. Darnit - he's not making them now or I'd look into it. Check him out, though - Adam Winrich on Youtube. He's amazing.

To Kill a King. with Tim Roth. About the relationship between Crommwell and Lord Fairfax. Not great but not bad either.

I use to do alot of martial arts tournaments and there were a few whip forms/katas performed, some were very impressive.
Not what most people would think of as a weapon used in martial arts.

What was the Clint Eastwood movie were the sheriff is killed by bullwhips and the townspeople are tormented with this knowledge?

Camac.

Is it pretty historically accurate or is it more entertainment based? Not that I can think it would make a great disney movie.

Shake Hands with The Devil. Its about the genocide in Rwanda and the U.Ns. indifference. I enjoyed it. Very accurate.

I don't get out to the movies very often, however I do buy and rent DVDs. The last three I rented were "Michael Collins", "The Wind that shakes the barley" and "Bloody Sunday".

All three are excellent, and I do recommend them for anyone interested in Irish History. Some dramatic license was taken but they still give you a good idea of what was happening in Ireland.

Just finished the 3rd dvd in the Stargate Season 3 set. There are only 5 dvd's - at this rate, I'm going to have to scrounge up more money soon to buy the next season (and hope it's still on sale for $24.99 at Best Buy).

Hi Ranger,

I agree - I just watched Bourne Ultimatum again the other night after I rip it and stuffed it into my Zune. I watched the "tiny Bourne" movie today on the Zune's 3" screen and came away with a whole new appreciation of watching movies on my laptop! smile.gif

Friend from Denmark is here for a visit and we saw Miss Pettigrew. Good acting, entertaining and cute, some good laughs, a little to formuliac for me. Frances McDormand as Miss Pettigrew and Amy Adams as the ditzy and cute as heck Delysia are fun to watch. Not a great movie , simple, funny, cute and predictable.
