Union leaders in Ohio have notified their members that their polls were flawed and the numbers are too close to call.

Again unweighted polls indicate the union attempt will fail by numbers outside the margin of error.

No matter the outcome, most communities looking at labor negotiations are now stalling to see what the outcome will be. Locally, no community has less than a million dollar deficit and many have short falls in the multi million range.

Lay off's are pending with numbers as high as 4% in schools and 5% in other government units. The state is not bound to make pension payments, only to return the employee portion minus the state contribution and interest. success in meeting payments depends on having a funded pension which is the domain of the unions and their members. I look to see the funds in the underfunded plans to be turned over to the unions if SB5 does not go in effect.

Until people get back to work in decent jobs where they actually pay taxes, the situation will only get worse.

School vouchers are in play again in many communities as the idea of sending children to better schools, public or private, has become quite popular of late.

The results will soon be in.
