Remember the beauty

Amber Pool
Geese fly in V
A murder in tree
sing like a million children crying
A wise man kneels at waters edge
skips a stone
shakes his head
Have we forgotten the beauty of Rain
seperated ourselves from this plane
Fields grow small and buildings tall
a wise man sighs
as geese fly by
and hopes it is not
good bye

QUOTE (barddas @ Nov 21 2003, 10:55 AM)
Have we forgotten the beauty of Rain

Fields grow small and buildings tall

I especially liked these two lines. I am afraid so many have forgotten the beauty of Rain.

And as one who worked in Conservation in an urban county, I saw over and over again the fields grow small as the buildings grew tall. I too sigh and hope it's not goodbye......

Beautiful......

Barddas,

These are the feeling I have when I go wading in my favorite river. Especially when it is raining, not heavy though just a soft rain where the birds darts around you and the animals are moving about.

Usually I am there by myself and all is quiet except for the running water and the movements of the animals.

I have often wondered how soon will it be before there are buildings around me and traffic running back and forth. It is depressing but I think of now and there are no buildings and traffic and think how wonderful it is to be here and to be able to enjoy it.

Thank you for reminding me of these feeling that I have inside of me.

Good Poem or Rambling thoughts, which ever you want to call them, I enjoyed it.

Richard

Barddas,

Thank you so much for sharing with us. You are so right in your poem. It is heart wrenching to think of what we loose when we gains something new.

May the Goddess Open our eyes.

This was inspired by a few things... Obviously the first time I went hunting, but from a book I reread... It touched on this and brought that thought back to m'head

The First Hunt

The boy holds the rifle tight
His stomache in knots since the night before
His brow runs with sweat
Then he hears a noise and turns his head
Standing there in the clearing is the white deer
Trembling hands, he tries to steady
as he take aim
Through the sites the deer stands unknowing
Trying to squeeze the trigger
Emotions fill his brain
What would Dad think, What would Grandpa say?
If I can not take its life
He takes a breath to clear his head
And knows his families need for what this kill will give
A blast of powder, and the deer falls to the ground
The boy sighs a sigh of relief, and feels a bit of grief

Hey 'old fool' I know another inspiration! John-Boy's first turkey hunt? Got swept away in that image so that I saw into his head as I read it. (exchange quarry) biggrin.gif

I like the sigh of relief and feels a bit of grief. I always thought it would be cool to hunt, but I knew, even if I hunted out of necessity, I would feel that grief.

Jason, I could almost hear the melody line as I read each stanza. I surely hope you do put this one in the next album because it is simply beautiful! biggrin.gif
