Hello, I'm sorry of this is kind of off topic. I didn't see a group for music fest or celtic fest. I went to the Sterling Celtic Rock Festival in Sterling, Ny (North of Syracuse and East of Rochester). It was pretty awesome! I went just hoping to see Searson play live, but got introduced to the The Elders and Causeway Giants also. I think I would have liked The Town Pants, but didn't get to see their show because it interfered with Searson on the schedule. I've been wanting to go to a Irish or Celtic fest this year, but could not get any of my friends to go with me. I finally got the nerve up to go to one by my self, not even in my home state not less. It was hosted at a renaissance festival grounds the weekend after their normal season had run it's course. Here is the website if you want to check it out: http://www.sterlingceltic.com/ Here are a few pics: It's just getting started, but it's growing fast from what I overheard. I'm hoping to make it to this one also this year: http://www.michiganirish.org/ It's sad because I live in Ohio, but I didn't go to the Dublin Irish Fest (2nd largest world wide, or so I've read) because I didn't want to go by my self. I went to this one because I was in Rochester with family. It was only an hour away. |

Bummer that you couldn't get anyone to go with you, I know the feeling. I go alone, as well, but enjoy the time while I'm there. I've met quite a few nice people at the festivals, so I find I'm not truly alone. Since you live in Ohio, perhaps next year take a trip to Dayton's 10th festival, which is the week before Dublin's. The Dayton one is free admission, so it would just be the cost of getting there. |
