Hi, I just found Celtic Radio thanks to a link from a good friend. Gosh, there's a big community here!
I'm a public health nurse in Tidewater Virginia. My main enjoyments in life are reading and folk/alt-country/Celtic music listening. Unfortunately, I don't play any instruments. I'm just a good listener!
My grandparents were both from County Kerry in Ireland, but I've never been to visit. I hope to go over in the next year or so.
Meanwhile, I'll listen to Celtic Radio online and look around the forums a bit. It seems like a really nice place here.
What's the best way to approach finding my way around? Is there a way to make the forums show me newest posts first (backwards, in other words)? So far, I've just been entering threads and clicking on the last page number...is there a better way?
Or if I'm asking in the wrong thread, can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks! I am trying out the "attachment" to see if it makes a smiley appear; apologies in advance if I mess up!!

Hi, maryk, from the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona! Glad you found this place and I'm sure you're going to enjoy the music and the good camaraderie here!
Clicking on the last page is a good way to see the latest posts. You can also click on the last post at the forum in question and it should take you to the last unread post. It's whatever you are most comfortable with. And don't worry about "messing up." This is a really friendly community (with a few ornery folks thrown in for good measure ).
You can also go to the Technical Support thread and post any questions you like regarding the site. Folks will jump in to help you with any question you have.
Welcome aboard and have a great day!

Fàilte chridheil oirbh! (a warm welcome to you) Always a pleasure to see new faces. Sounds like you're already getting into the forums- I'm sure you'll find lots to get involved with.
Welcome to the Celtic Radio forum maryk. The people here are very friendly. I hope you will enjoy the music that Highlander Radio has to offer. I look forward to you posting. We are glad you've found us.

One of the loveliest counties in Ireland indeed! I spent a few days there almost 9 years ago and the memories bring a smile to my face even now. Do go - it will touch your heart. How wonderful to have that family connection; we have Irish names on my dad's side of the family a few generations back but unfortunately do not know any background on the ladies. Mahoney and Malone are their names so its a good guess they were from Ireland! How I wish I knew exactly where the ladies were from...
Good to have you here, Mary. I've been unable to visit here recently and am going to try to be a regular again. Its a great place to hang out!
