Please note that effective today we will no longer accept new Celtic Radio accounts that use an email address from gmail, yahoo or hotmail. In addition, we may add additional free email systems to this list which do not employ security and that does not prevent the malicious use of their system.
Over the past few months we have been monitoring the number of "spoofed" accounts generated by these providers and it is truly amazing that the companies running these system do not stop members of questionable backgrounds from setting up and using their systems to engage in spam and unsolicited emails.
If you currently have a Celtic Radio account that was registered with a gmail, yahoo or hotmail account then you can continue to use that email address with your Celtic Radio account. This is only for new accounts going forward.
We would suggest that new members use their internet provider email address and refrain from using free email systems to register an account on this site.
Gosh! I've just changed my e-mail 's address in hotmail, because in this area where I live now,we havent't the adsl connection(!!!), so Imust use the internet key ( With many, many problems...) and I had to take off my Internet provider( I had to pay for nothing...) . Few minutes ago, I changed it in hotmail....justbecause I was afraid to lose my account, seeing that the old one it's gone... but it looks that my new account with hotmail it's been accepted by CelticRadio.... Could you tell me something about, please? Thanks a lot Slàinte Iolanda

The restriction on Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail is just for the initial setup process. If you sign-ed up for a Celtic Radio account and validated your email address then you decide to change it to hotmail or gmail then that is ok.
Its just on new accounts because there is so many spammers out there today that use those systems.
We can also pre-register an account for you. So if you have a friend and family member that would like an account, just email us using our contact form and we can setup an account for them.
In the end, we are just trying to prevent the site from having a bunch of spam messages and profiles in the forums. I think with the help of the current moderating team we do a great job and hopefully we can continue to provide a safe and spam free forum for all to visit!
