A very smooth English Ale with an excellent taste. You get a very thick creamy head that lasts. No carbination. My friend who referred it to me called it a vanilla Guinness.
Definitley worth a try.

That does sound interesting. We now have a specialty liquor store that can get most anything. I might have a small taste and give the rest to my son.

Good grief, Boddington?! I hate that stuff. Had it when I was in England about three times. Never again! Not for me. Your post gave me shivers down me back.

There was a Tiger Bitter brewed up around Trent or York (I think) which is fantastic. Here in the states, I get imported Samuel Smith ale when I want the very best taste.

Ah, perhaps its because Irish is more your fancy, than Caledonian.

Good luck with that Boddington stuff. Eeegads... unsure.gif

Maybe I will not be all too disappointed if they can not obtain it for me.

Well, we all have different tastes, I suppose. Boddington may be one of those which one either loves or hates. But that is still a fantasy suggestion as far as I am concerned.

If they obtain it I will buy it. I used to know a few people who would drink anything containing alcohol that would take it. Unfortunately, because of that willingness they are gone now. Maybe I will pass it around to observe peoples expressions. When you indicated that the "post" gave you "shivers" flags popped up for me!!

I knew a car salesman who loved his scotch. We were having cigars and talking one day when he got out the scotch. He had an ulcer and mixed both with milk. That is how I know that feeling. One taste and I told him NO WAY! If I took another sip I was going to throw up on his floor! He drank mine and it gave me the chills just to watch him.

It is what you get used to I guess. I am getting too old to be conditioning myself for new tastes.

Well Boddingtons took on a life of it's own.
I had a few friends meet me over at my Celtic Pub in my cellar a few weeks ago: "Tomfoolery's".
They tried a Boddingtons. Some liked it some didn't.

BUT we decided to meet every Thursday after work for a few laughs. Then we decided to have a name for the group and since the Boddingtons was very prevalent at the first gathering it was decided to call it:

"THE BODDINGTON SOCIETY"

Sounds important and like something real.
Well .........now we have hand gestures, society names, Boddington T shirts, a Boddington neon light, and glasses with the Boddingtons logo on them set up in a corner on the pub.
Yeah I know, pretty goofy. It was described by one of our wifes that we were are acting like a bunch of Jr. High kids that found a Playboy in the woods.
Last Wednesday I saw one of our member's wife at the supermarket and she says to me, " I hear the Society is meeting tomorrow".
I said: "Yes and make sure your husband isn't late. He's our President"
She said: "Don't tell me that"
He IS our President! Whatever that means, were not sure.
We have added more "members" in recent weeks and had a ton of laughs.

That's why I made the pub. Get's friends together for some silly relaxing fun. laugh.gif
P.S. Usually we have ESPN showing on the flat screen but I played a Great Big Sea DVD last time, to some members dismay..... at first. But I think they have a couple new fans now. Young Dubliners next week?? thumbs_up.gif

Sounds like your acting more like our president & congress - albeit your club is not over any weighty or substantial matters, I'd say your context is perfect. Enjoy & have fun.

It looks like I will not get to sample it. Since I can not attest to it's taste and only want 6 they are afraid the rest will not sell. I may find it somewhere in my travels yet.

I like the club idea.
