After floating around this site for awhile, looking at all the diversity amongst the members, reading the many posts, and the quotes attached to the various members, it struck me that with all of the intelligence available hear, that evryone should have a favorite quote or two. Anyone mind sharing? Here's one:
"Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." - Aldous Huxley
Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer "am I worth dying for?" - Eleanor Roosevelt
The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools. -- Herbert Spencer, English Philosopher (1820-1903)
I make my students write down a quote from the board each day upon entering class so I have 3 to 4 years worth of quotes. Hey!!! That's something I collect..........oh wrong thread..............
I'll look for a couple of really great ones but until then:
"If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you." D. Reader

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal labotomy. When the going gets tough, the weird turn pro. There are only two levels, and one is above you. If your brain was in the eye of a fly, it would rattle around like a BB in a box car. I'm here from the Federal Government and here to help. Death is camp. Never in recorded history have so many owed so much to so few. They killed Kenny. YOU BASTARDS!!!
"And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." (Abraham Lincoln)
"Experience is not what happens to a man. It's what a man does with what happens to him." (Aldous Huxley)
I could still go on...

"Now here's my secret", said the fox, "it is very simple. It is only with ones heart that one can see clearly. What is essential is invisible to the eye."
("The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery)
"The soul would have no rainbow, if the eye had no tears." (Native American Proverb)
Yeah, I had a slight idea...thank you for clearing it up and rescuing me out of my ignorance!!! You see I have NO idea about fishing although I could identify your avatar as a fly after a few minutes . I like watching people fishing but never tried it myself. My Mum hated (and still does!) fish.

Gaberlunzie,
You don't have to keep the fish if you do not want but one thing I can guarantee is that if you ever do decide to try it, and like it. You will be hooked for life.
Did I just do another bad pun?
