| Is there anyone who could recommend some good Christ-centered fiction books that don't involve romance? I am looking for something to interest my brother, to replace some books we had to get rid of. He likes detail and adventure. I want to encourage godly character. Can someone please help me? |

| Check out http://www.christianbook.com/. They have tons of books that are fairly cheap, as well. That would probably be a good place to start. I don't have any to recommend, though they might. Frank Peretti is a good one, but your brother should be older to read those books - they deal a lot more with spiritual warfare, etc. So they are darker. But check the website out - they will have a lot of choices. |

| How old is your brother? The chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis are great books. There is a lot of Christian symbolisms in the Lord of The Rings books as well. That might take a bit of discussion to bring out the concepts of sacrifice etc... |

| Actually, Elspeth, those are the ones we were compelled to dispose of. I didn't really want to start a debate (when Irish tempers flare) so I didn't mention them. My brother is nearly 17, no longer a boy, not quite a man. He said that he likes the stories in which a small band of characters joins together and withstands their foe against impossible odds. Well, if that's all he wants... I did find some books for him and will post the list here in case anyone is interested. Thanks for your suggestions. They came recommended, but I will let you know how they are and if anyone is interested in them, I can let you know where to find them. |

| I really really liked the "Left Behind" series. I would read a 400-page book in 2 days just to get to the next one. There is a tiny bit of romance, but not a lot. There is a small band of people in books 1-2 that get together to get set up for the coming of Jesus. C.S. Lewis is a good start. The Children's Bible. The bible is full of adventure! |
