I love both of those videos!!! The scenes of Ireland make one want to hope a jet and go there! Skully's music shows the beauty of Ireland and the people there. Skully is awsome, I just recently heard his music and blackbird sung by Kate Murphy has me hooked. Only thing is I cant find the lyrics to his songs anywhere. Does anybody know where I can find them, If not i have to hunt down the CD.

I love Celtic Radio!!! I have heard some great music on here!!! Of course, my favorite is Irish Makeover, especially Blackbird & King of The Fairies! I like it when Skully adds his special touch to an old favorite!
There is something I need to clarify. A "Thank you" to Irishatheart and Keltic who both, rightly so, pointed it out!
Skully's "Blackbird" on the IRISH MAKEOVER album is his version of the Traditional "If I were a Blackbird". This beautiful song has been recorded by many other artists. One example is Delia Murphy's 1939 version. It is hard to search for the "correct" lyrics. For instance, there are both male and female perspectives (the Maiden/the Sailor) of the song. Both perspectives can be found on 'Cantaria' (http://chivalry.com/cantaria/lyrics/blackbird.html), which is a great site for looking up lyrics in general! Additional verses have been added through out time also. There is a wonderful Thread on 'The Mudcat Cafe' (http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=74827&messages=32) discussing the origins of the lyrics.
Celtic Radio has been "down" several times the last couple of days, due to being restored back to July 22nd. As I mentioned above, another member, Keltic, was nice enough to post here and clarify the origins of the song. I couldn't figure out why his post amongst others got deleted. Last night, after the site was up again, I figured out that all of my posts after July 22nd have been deleted also. A necessity to make the site once again safe for all of us. I am relatively new to Celtic Radio and enjoy the music and interaction with other fellow listeners very much. I would never delete a comment made in response to one of my postings, unless the comment is disrespectful to others, or is riddled with profanity. So Keltic, I hope you are reading this! You are always welcome to leave a comment on any of my postings!
The song "Blackbird", from Skully's IRISH MAKEOVER album, was recorded in a beautiful little cottage by the sea, in Ireland, where Skully once lived. This song will forever be linked to this little cottage in my mind. With the image of a fire burning softly in the fireplace as the sun sets, a cast crane holding a bastible filled with Irish stew... simmering as bread bakes, and Skully's music filling the air as the sound of the oceans waves sigh in the back ground. Mmmm.....
In 2008 I drew the cottage as a thank you gift. Across the bottom the words inscribed: "To my dear friend Skully ~ for moments and memories shared. Love Tink~" I titled the drawing "An Irish Cottage" but as Skully, himself, titled it "Tink's Cottage" on his My Space profile... that is how it came to be known in its Giclee Art Print form. It was the first of my works that had been inspired by his music to be taken to art print.
For me, Skully is far more than just a very talented musician. He is a treasured friend and a true inspiration. For this, and so much more, I thank him... with all my heart. Love Tink~
And what a great 'Thank You' gift it is! I too think of it as "Tink's Cottage"! The little thumbnail picture doesn't do it justice at all!
I am fortunate enough to own one of Tink's other beautiful drawings. It is titled "Travara" and depicts one of Skully's favorite places. The story behind is unbelievable. Skully wanted to surprise his brother with a special Birthday present. He contacted Tink and asked her if she would be up to doing a drawing. Tink took one of Skully's photographs from his Myspace site and set to work. Many hours of hard labour later Tink's beautiful "Travara" emerged. At times Tink sat up in her little attic studio, her hands wrapped in ice, for "Travara" is done in dots! Can you imagine the patience and detail? "Travara" is up in my bedroom right now, thanks to Tink's generosity. It is by far one of the greatest gifts I have ever received! My son and I are still searching for all the secrets here and there Tink was able to hide in the drawing. A Mermaid in the water....... etc.

Thank you for your post Berry. I just found it strange that both of my posts disappeared in this thread. There was definitely no disrespect to Skully nor to you meant by my posts. I figured that I would start another thread concerning the issue which seems to have disappeared as well. Something strange is happening here. I have since noticed that another post in an unrelated thread ("Cancelled Festivals") has also gone missing.
In any case, I had received an e-mail days before noticing this thread asking for a link to the "Irish Makeover" Myspace page. The link has been made from my website. Skully has definitely made these traditional tunes his own.
On another note, I'm not sure if I should have bothered spending so much time typing this out because I'm assuming that this post is going to disappear as well.

Unfortunately, a bad piece of software called NetLimiter2 really messed up our server. It is still not 100% fixed, but we feel the site should be stable with what we have right now.
I guess it is just like "restoring" your own PC to a prior date. All information not having been backed up will be lost forever.
Of course you haven't been disrespectful! Your (disappeared) posts have been nothing but informative!

Isn't it just amazing! truly amazing! How one man's musical creations could be so captivating and moving that they would draw people together and join them in friendship.
And this album, IRISH MAKEOVER, is such a delicious treat to the senses. It makes the heart take flight.
For anyone who is unfamiliar with this collection of "revamped" folk songs... I highly recommend it and strongly suggest that you listen with headphones on! The depth and detail of Skully's music is unbelievable!
~Again, these are very beautiful words for a man, as quoted, ~A Treasured Friend and True Inspiration ~ as your feelings for Skully and His Music shine Through in your Art, especially Tink's Cottage as he appropriately name it ~ it is truly amazing how he has brought a lot of people together with a lot in common~ She is correct, Skully has a lot to offer the music world, so with all this support he's bound to be heard all over the world!
