According to a new bill introduced in the House, the new cap and trade legislation if passed will make the commodities market the playing field for trading carbon credits. This legislation and market creation will entrench the trading of taxpayer dollars make Goldman Sachs others richer. So even when climate change is shown without a doubt to be baloney, it can't be admitted because an entire new money making venture, which is essentially one of taxpayer extortion, will be too entrenched to eliminate.

Your thoughts.

Exactly. Carbon dioxide is necessary for any vegetation life to exist and due to the balance for human and animal life to exist. If one eliminates the so-called "carbon footprint" then one is eliminating life itself. These crooks extort us in massive money & power grab at the expense of your paycheck & liberty by manipulating in mass the common ignoramuses among us.

It is all about gaining control of the populace! Nothing more.

The guy who thought up the cap & trade idea says it probably won't work.

Well, Antwn, green is not "clean" if clean means being outside the structure of profit generation and sort of above it all. Ecological reform has to be paid for in some way. But I think you are right that there is a conflict of interest to mix scientific inquiry that is trying its damndest to temper the emotionality of green ideology wth profit generation.

Um -- englishmix -- this is a kind of all-or-nothing statement. Unless I misread your being ironic . . . smile.gif Carbon dioxide in proper balance is necessary for the balance of life. Out of balance, it creates huge problems. Oxygen is toxic as hell in greater than the normal concentrations to support life. One does not speak of either eliminating these things OR ignoring them when they are in proportions that are more hazardous than supportive, right?

Of course anything out of balance can create havoc. Question is, what constitutes out of balance and are we there? When no mean average nor ideal saturation has ever been established for atmospheric CO2, then its hardly prudent to speak in terms of hazardous proportions, particularly when much higher atmospheric concentrations of CO2 in the distant past created far more ideal conditions for flourishing plant growth and by extension animal proliferation and the success of species.

It's not the CO2 maybe so much as the radicalized oxygen, from which I personally am gasping and taking refuge today, even as we speak. But in general, whatever went on in the distant past took a much longer time (large factors of something more) as life forms gradually adapted to it.

How do we know no ideal saturation for CO2 has been established, just out of curiosity? And ideal for what?

Because no one knows what an ideal saturation is. Ideal for what? The flourishing of life I suppose. Probably why no one knows. There may be a wide latitude. Since humans activities supply approximately 3-4% of atmospheric CO2 and nature is a self correcting system (so far) with regard to CO2 cycling, the upset of balance from anthropogenic cause is not a concern for legitimate panic. Not that you're panicing, I was speaking generally.
