QUOTE (Dogshirt @ 16-Dec-2005, 11:20 PM)
At the risk o' puttin'
someone out for talkin' aboot ther favorite tune, Heather Dale and "The Trial of
Lancelot" ere a prime example o' SQUISHY music. And life is just tae short to
spend time on sich!

The world would be a dull place were we all to like the same thing. Although I would hardly make the comparison you do (to which many here can attest), I admire a fellow who's not afraid to say what he thinks smile.gif

I'd thoucht maself all by ma lane aboot thon song! Squishy 'tis . . . I'd staun ye a wee drappie o' the best, gin I were nigh by ye, Dogshirt.

This really is hard, because a fair few of my die-hard favorites are here, including the one I nominated thumbs_up.gif . However -- amazing! -- there's a few I can't abide and I'm diving for the volume knob when they come on. So it's all to the good, and the wild variety of the company.

Here's hoping that Santa brings you all, the joy of a fine meal, a fine single molt, and short bread, toped off with the company of family and friends.

Come on people . . .

VOTE!

IF YOU DON'T VOTE THEN YOU HAVE NO SAY IN WHAT HAS BEEN SELECTED WHEN VOTING IS OVER AND YOU WILL HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN. SO SAY SOMETHING NOW. VOTE!

OUT OF 9,570 MEMBERS ONLY 73 HAVE VOTED THAT'S LESS THAN ONE PERCENT. IN OTHER WORDS FOR EVERY ONE OF THE 73 VOTES CAST, ONE VOTE HAS A WEIGHT OF 131 PEOPLE BEHIND IT. TALK ABOUT CONCENTRATED POWER IN THE HANDS OF A FEW . . . .

I vote for Tam Lin! I've read the Ballad, read a book based on that ballad (An Earthly Knight by Janet McNaughton), and I love, love, love, love it! tongue.gif

Did you know there's a whole web site based on research of that ballad? smile.gif
Talk about obsessed. . . but it's really pretty neat what the site-mistress has pulled together.

Yup...last year when I did my NaNo novel, I did it on Tam Lin. That site has everything you ever wanted to know about the story and six things you never thought of.

I'll drag myself away from the tangent black hole now...
