Howdy neighbor and welcome to Celtic Radio! You will enjoy all of your time here, so take the time to post often so we get to know you and the wonderful part of the country known as Fargo! Of course, you can't fool me about it!

Shh...

Just remember the NDA you signed about the northern Midwest and everything should be fine. laugh.gif

It's always nice to meet brothers in arms from the frozen north. Thanks for the welcome.

And thank you too, Rindy.

Right now in Fargo, ND, we've still got around 18 inches of snow from the fist of the Christmas blizzard that was driven in our gut. Though we're trying to keep the apartment as tightly closed as possible to keep out the -33 temperature with wind chill going on out there. It's not working too well. laugh.gif

Welcome! You have found the best Celtic site on the net.

I do have a question. How do the winters in Fargo compare with those in Minot? I spent what may have been the longest week of my life one day in Minot during a cold snap. It was over -30 degrees and the wind must have been blowing over 40MPH. There was a lot of snow on the ground and it was all heading out of state with the wind.

Slàinte,

Patch

They tend to be pretty similar. Most of my mother's family is in or around Minot, so I spent many a Christmas vacation there back in school.

It largely tends to come down to where the storms fall. In the Christmas blizzard we just got hit with, Fargo received just over 18 inches of snow while Minot got about 2 feet. Though it's about -33 with wind chill right now in Fargo while it's only -14 in Minot, so at least we've got them beat in something. laugh.gif

Thanks for the welcomes.

I do mainly tabletop myself. I started with the West End Games (WEG) box set of d6 Star Wars back when I was in grade school, and moved onto Advanced Dungeons and Dragons when I got into junior high/high school. Right now my current game of choice is Star Wars Saga Edition (I'll be running two games once classes get back in session for my players), though I'm generally up for any game. I've got quite the bookshelf full of various systems, some that I've run and some that I'll never run, but read just the same as an aspiring game designer.

I used to do more console gaming than I do these days, but I just don't have the time for it anymore it seems. There are still some games that grab me and don't let me go, such as Oblivion and Fallout 3, but those releases seem to be getting fewer and more far between. It's the same with PC games. I've just never been able to keep up with the latest system requirements for the latest and greatest games, and most MMOs just don't grab me (though I probably will be signing my life away for Star Wars: The Old Republic).

That's pretty much my gaming habits.

Hail and well met, everyone. I stumbled across the website yesterday and after listening for a few minutes, was immediately glad I had. I've always had an appreciation for all varieties of Celtic music and was never satisfied with a lot of the stations other music streaming services offered. So, I decided to sign up and grab a chair in the community pub so to speak.

A little more about myself, I'm a Fargo, ND native, born and raised. I'm an aspiring game designer (tabletop RPGs) and am less than a year away from marrying the love of my life, with whom I already share our two "children" (a dog and a cat). I'm currently a night merchandiser at the local Sam's Club. If there's anything else you want to know, just ask. I'm a pretty open person. wink.gif

Anywho, to finish this before I really start rambling, I'm looking forward to hanging around the site and getting to know you and raise a few virtual pints together.
