I am headed for Scotland in March on a photography trip for a new celtic retail business that will begin this year. I will be traveling around the country not only to photograph special sites but general landscapes, flowers etc as well as historical sites.

I have started a list of places to go but I'd like your input into places you either know about or they are your favorites.

So this thread is dedicated to adding to my list of places you'd like to see me photograph. So let me know what appeals to you!

Thanks so much!

Annabelle

Part of my Grandmother's family came from Dunnet in Caithness. I have never been to Scotland but I have seen some pictures of the coastline there. It is amazing.

I would love to see some pictures of Clackmannan. We also had family come from there.

Sister A!!!

You're going to Scotland and you didn't invite me!!!!! sad.gif
Wait until I tell mom!!! tongue.gif

Is this your business? Way to go girl. I was just wondering the other day why you didn't take a little jaunt over to the Isles. biggrin.gif

I can't wait to see all your pictures.

I based one of my novels in the Easter Ross, Straffefer region. I'd love to see pictures of that area. Had to use what I could get from the internet. Also, the Black Isle in that area. The Logans are supposed to have come from there. Maybe the ones I'm desecnded from and maybe not.

Also, I'd love to see pictures from the border areas as well.

So, when you go over, will you look up and have tea with any old friends? rolleyes.gif

Your loving, adorable, beautiful and oh so modest little sister. laugh.gif

How wonderful! Someday we'll go back to Scotland, we've promised ourselves it will happen, and this time we'll take our girls along, too.

May I twist your arm and ask that you visit the Isle of Skye, and Dunvegan Castle? My second grandfather was an American MacLeod, and we all adored him. He was a very kind, gentle, loving man and he made my grandmother very happy!

Inverness would be lovely to see again, too. The whole area is gorgeous up there! (Do I need mention the Loch? tongue.gif )

Who could go to Scotland and not go to Edinburgh?? Not me! I'd be there again in a heartbeat! There's so much to explore, people are wonderful, and the views all around are marvelous...you have to go there, too!

Have a great time!! I'm jealous...

Hi Annabelle,

So you say you’re going to Scotland to take photograph!
These are foot steps I would love to follow in.

Let’s see?

The Isle of Skye… Let me put it this way. If you were to say that the mountains seemed to have exploded in order to kiss the sky, you wouldn’t be exaggerating, and if you were to think that mother nature didn’t spare any colors on its landscape, that wouldn’t be an exaggeration either, and if the harbor at Portree looked just the way you hoped it would, you would probably have a great day of shooting.

Hi Annabelle,

You know if you were to take Rout, A82 North out of Glasgow, heading foe a sea side resort called Oban. You can sing; (You take the high road, and I’ll take the low road,) as you drive by the bonny banks of Loch Lomond, and soon after that, you’ll find yourself driving through The Cobbler. (I mean, just imagine driving through a glen of steeply rolling green hills, all toped with clouds of mist, while glancing down at a charming cottage, nestled by a rambling stream in the valley far below.) I can’t imagine not stopping at the observation point, even if you drove that rout every day.

As a side note: Although I don’t think it will be a problem in the month of March, I would still have some insect repellent on hand, just incase the Midges happen to be swarming. Having been at The Cobbler in the middle of May, I defiantly believe the old folk law, which says that dancing the Jig, came about as a result of Midges biting.

May the glomming be in your viewfinder.

You know when I leave this world. I wouldn't mind leaving on Oban ferry, on its way to the Isle of Mull. I guess what I’m trying to say is, that I think it’s all there, just dieing to be cropped.

I would also like to say, that you don’t have to take any pictures for me, but I would love to see what you come back with.

May the glomming be in your viewfinder.

Hi John, it's funny you should mention the ferry cause the second day that is where I'm headed. I have always wanted to go out to Iona so dat's where I'm heading thru the port in Oban.

Yes Celtic Cat Bannochburn is photographable! Hopefully I'll get there again this trip.

Taking off This week and will share pictures upon return.....if i find anyone a job to stay there it's gonna be for me bucko!
