My most memorable birthday wasn't my best; rather, it was my worst. I got sick the morning of my 12th birthday and had to postpone my party for a week sad.gif .

I've had some memorable ones over the years: the first birthday as a mom, when my son had been born in the previous February, several celebrated at the beach in Panama City, Florida...

but the one that comes to mind was 2 years ago, because I had just been on my first painting trip to France during the previous 3 weeks and had ended the trip with 4 days with friends in my beloved England, visiting London & the south of England for the very first time. At 5 am that birthday morning, I was at Heathrow catching a flight back to Atlanta and as happy as could be.

The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king..."

My best birthday memory wasn't for my own birthday but one for my close friend. We, a close group of friends, decided to kidnap her and treat her to fun things all day long. We even brought a video camera to capture her very own makeover story. The best part was just hanging out with my close friends and making her day. I have a professional picture that we took as a group hanging up on my wall and I love looking at it. Def one of my favourites.

My best birthday memory makes me sad...

My big sister was always my role-model. She was a sweet person and very inelligent. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up.

One year she made me a strawberry cake, my favorite and only she knew how to make it just right. Anyway, for some reason it ended up a little lopsided and she cried because she wanted my cake to be perfect. I remember telling her that it WAS perfect just because she had made it for me. That seemed to help cheer her up somewhat.

She died seven years ago from breast cancer and that is one of my fondest memories of her....
