Celtic Radio Community > General Discussion > Why So Few Pictures? |
Posted by: Tassiecelt 10-Sep-2004, 06:33 PM |
I love to meet you all and especially see what you look like, but so few have added a personal picture! I notice at the bottom of the page there is a button to click for details. Are we all so secretive? |
Posted by: CelticRose 10-Sep-2004, 07:02 PM |
My mug shot is in there Tassiecelt! |
Posted by: Dreamer1 10-Sep-2004, 07:31 PM |
I'm there, though a little blurred. I will admit to being nervous about adding my pic to my profile - there are so many members here that we never hear from. They may just be lurking and reading quietly, which is fine, but we'll never get to know them. That can be very intimidating, to say the least! Be patient, more may join us with their smiling faces! Okay Tassiecelt, I will look for a presentable one |

On another site I visited for some time we had a picture post thread where people would post general pics of themselves, kids, wives/hubbies/bf's or gf's..and various asundry other things. I had thought about starting a thread like that here but I dont know how much server space that might take up.. Eh |

How about offering a class oon loading pictures here... After Bethlehem you will get alot more pictures from Egan and he can list who everyone is! |

The great thing about the internet is the anonymity of it! You can meet lots of great people and strike up friendships without having to worry about people forming false first impressions just because of your appearance. I have posted a personal picture in my profile but it was a long time before I felt comfortable enough to do so. I had to get to know these people and see what a nice bunch of people they are before I revealed my face to them! Of course this has a down-side too! The person who tells you he is 25 year-old man could be the 65 year-old woman who lives down the street! |
Posted by: CelticRose 10-Sep-2004, 08:10 PM
Annabelle! what kind of help do you need? All you have to do is load a photo of yourself in "my pictures" You can do that by scanning a photo or putting one in by your digital camera. All you gotta do then is load it in per instructions on the personal photo section. If you have trouble with that, you might need to host your photo onto a photo website and get an url and post it from there. Am I am making any sense or talking foreign to you? I know the feeling! Let me know if you need any help. |

Well...To tell you the truth Tassiecelt, I'd hoped to spare us all the shock of that experience. Actually, I just don't have any recent pictures of me. But if you don't mind one that's a bit dated, then click below. |
Posted by: talleyrand 10-Sep-2004, 08:52 PM |
There's a two-for-one deal on my picture but Tassie you've still got me beat by having the dog. |
Posted by: ANNHAM 10-Sep-2004, 09:15 PM |
Whewww! I agree, It is hard getting pictures to "stick"... I had a picture of my grandson, Devin there and had to remove it and then log off and back on to get another picture to stick.. I also adjusted it to 500 pixels, but don't know whether that was necessary. AND It was hard to find one of me... I am the picture taker around here, not very often the subject.. This is the only one I could find in the past couple of years Anyway, I have enjoyed looking at everyone's picture on this post. It's nice to put faces with names. I especially like the Carolina Scotsman's |
Posted by: Macfive 10-Sep-2004, 09:33 PM |
Ok, the Mac revealed! Not a very good picture, but actually, I realized tonight what few pictures I have of myself. I am usually the one taking the pictures. Picture of me and Michaela....then Victoria, James and Michaela. Will get one of my lovely wife up soon. Call this one - Just monkeying around! |
Posted by: Macfive 10-Sep-2004, 09:33 PM |
Opps, forgot only 1 attachment. Here are the kids |
Posted by: Macfive 10-Sep-2004, 09:36 PM |
1 more! |
Posted by: Macfive 10-Sep-2004, 09:38 PM |
Ok, I lied. One more and thats it...promise! |
Posted by: CelticRose 10-Sep-2004, 10:34 PM |
Wow! great pics, Macfive! I especially love the last one of Michaela! What a great pic! You have some very beautiful children there. And you! I always pictured you to look like Boromir of LOTR, probably because you had that avatar for so long! Great to see your face.........finally! |
Posted by: urian 10-Sep-2004, 10:38 PM |
Great pics, mac! Truly. and,Bill, We need soemting taken this century, brother=p |

Is that s Trogdor shirt you're wearing? Very cool. |
Posted by: CelticRose 11-Sep-2004, 01:18 AM |
Urian! If I may be so bold to say...........you are quite a handsome devil..........but so intense! |
Posted by: Aaediwen 11-Sep-2004, 04:01 AM |
Mac, I'd been wondering who I was talking to as well. not the image I had mapped either. I also notice that only guys have posted pics in this thread The ladies I've seen post here already have theirs in their profile (like that stopped Urian) I've got one in my profile. Although I may replace it with a better one taken a couple weeks ago. I haven't yet because I haven't edited the pics yet and am not sure how it will work after I crop out the other subject in the pic. She's pretty, but I don't know she'd want me posting her pic here along side myself. Besides, if it's a portrait to represent me, I don't think I should bother anyone with having someone else in the pic Then when you figure in file size... . |
Posted by: CelticRose 11-Sep-2004, 04:51 AM |
Holy cow! I just looked at my pic in my profile and it is huge! I must work on that somehow. I don't know how it got to be so huge! sorry! I was not trying to be vain or anything! |
Posted by: Macfive 11-Sep-2004, 07:16 AM
Actually, this is one of those pictures that I was having a bad hair day, reason for the hat, and I was not exactly cleanly shaving. I'm planning on having a much better picture for the site with my kids dressed in their Highland Dress. But it was the only one at the time that I could fine that I actually liked! |
Posted by: dfilpus 11-Sep-2004, 07:56 AM
Currently, there is a whole forum on photography and there is the photograpy Gallery avaiiable. Just go to where you prefer and post. My photo in my profile is from a backpacking trip last March in the Uwharrie mountains. I do most of the photography in the family, so I have very few pictures of myself. |
Posted by: Shadows 11-Sep-2004, 08:45 AM |
This is the way ye find my wife and 2 youngest ( out of 6 ) and meself on most weekends year round... it is our second life. The 4 legged hairy one is our dog Shyler. |
Posted by: Shadows 11-Sep-2004, 08:55 AM
CR don't change it! Leave it alone... it shows the character in you, most others are to small ! LOL!!! |
Posted by: CelticRose 11-Sep-2004, 09:08 AM |
Ok! Shadows! I couldn't make it any smaller anyway.............so people will have to think I am a very vain person! |
Posted by: CelticRose 11-Sep-2004, 09:20 AM |
Very beautiful family, Shadows! And you are exactly the way I pictured you! Love your dog too! |
Posted by: urian 11-Sep-2004, 09:49 AM
I am aware of that forum. But I also know(or was under the assumption) that it was for ART and ART related photography...otherwise I wouldnt have brought the subject up. and ,Aaediwen...boredom, my friend...boredom is evil |
Posted by: Cailiosa 11-Sep-2004, 10:07 AM |
Since I don't have a scanner or digital camera these pictures are going to be a bit outdated (about two years old), but they'll give you some idea of what I look like (or used to, anyway). They are from the summer I worked as a counselor and a wrangler at a camp in Wisconsin. This first one is (hopefully) a clearer version of my profile picture. |
Posted by: Cailiosa 11-Sep-2004, 10:11 AM |
This one is me on one of the camp's lead trail horses, Dakota |
Posted by: Cailiosa 11-Sep-2004, 10:17 AM |
This last one is of me and my rodeo horse, Red, during one of the rodeos the wrangling staff put on for the campers. It's not such a great picture of me, but an excellent one of Red, so I decided to include it. |
Posted by: CelticRose 11-Sep-2004, 10:18 AM
Urian! I think you are right. IMHO Those art and photography forums are just for that.........art and photography related. You might want to ask Angel Whitefang first though as she is the moderator of that forum. Cailiosa! You are a very beautiful girl on the outside as you are on the inside! Thanks for sharing a face with your name. |
Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 11-Sep-2004, 11:08 AM
Really dion't have any of me taken within last 15-20 years. If you want this century, the one below is my younger son and his wife last year at their wedding. |
Posted by: emerald-eyedwanderer 11-Sep-2004, 11:19 AM |
I loved looking at these pictures It's not that I'm shy I just don't have a scanner or a digital camera, I'm lucky I have the intenet. I will post some pictures as soon as I can though. |
Posted by: urian 11-Sep-2004, 12:29 PM
Great pic! neat! Just giving you a hard time, my friend. |
Posted by: Avonlea22 11-Sep-2004, 12:33 PM |
Well, my picture is in my profile, if anyone cares to take a look. It's not the best. Hopefully I will have a better one to post after my honeymoon in October. |
Posted by: CelticRose 11-Sep-2004, 12:58 PM |
Great photo of you Brian and great to see a face with a name! |
Posted by: ANNHAM 11-Sep-2004, 02:59 PM |
Thanks for starting this thread Tassiecelt. It is such fun & interesting to see everyone's photos.. Anne |

Guilty! http://www.homestarrunner.com/ is one of my favorite sites. There's a shot of me in the photo gallery wearing http://www.celticradio.net/php/gallery/displayimage.php?album=random&cat=12883&pos=-56. Some friends had driven past the Highland games here and said the knew I was there because they saw someone wearing a kilt and a Homestar shirt. Now that I think about, I keep those guys in money because my wife and I both have http://www.homestarrunner.com/tgsmenu.html shirts plus bumper stickers and a http://www.homestarrunner.com/kickcheat.html doll. |

My daughter, Victoria - in the picture - would absolutely love to see these pictures. I will tell her about them. She is very much so a horse lover! |
Posted by: BluegrassLady 11-Sep-2004, 10:55 PM |
I agree that it is nice to beable to match a face to a name. I figured I couldn't expect other members to put their pics up if I didn't, which is the reason mine is in my profile. It's great having another Kentuckian here, Cailiosa. Along with Aaediven, we are three. Would like to know if there are any others? |
Posted by: oldraven 11-Sep-2004, 11:08 PM |
Guys, n' galls, this is so awesome. Certainly nice to put faces to names. MAC!!!! I can't get over it. You're only a young fullo! I thought you were this mid fifties celtic maniac. Well, you've all seen a LOT of pictures of me lately, and there's the photo-manip in my profile, so you don't need me to submit any more. Peace and love, my brothers and sisters. |
Posted by: Tassiecelt 11-Sep-2004, 11:08 PM |
Thanks for the womderful response, I've been going through all the photos and it's great seeing your handsome faces, kinda helps us to get to know one another, do you not think? Shadow, what a fine looking family your are! I was of course referring to the photos in the contact card below. The gallery is another matter, I'v been unsuccessful in posting photos there, but I'll try again. |
Posted by: celtica 12-Sep-2004, 01:08 AM |
My picture is in my profile, though it's really unusual for me...in my country nobody do that. But I feel good here and I like to see other people's face so.... |
Posted by: Dreamer1 12-Sep-2004, 08:54 AM |
I agree, this is so wonderful!! It's terrific seeing everyone finally, and Mac I'm so surprised to see how young you are! I had the same basic idea that OldRaven did. Your family is precious, great pics of everyone! Let's keep 'em coming everyone. It's a joy to see who we're talking to, and brings us all closer. Dreamer1 |
Posted by: emerald-eyedwanderer 12-Sep-2004, 12:58 PM |
I know I like to see who I am talking to as do many of you so in all fairness I finally got a picture in my profile up, thanks to Mac. Thanks again! |
Posted by: Macfive 12-Sep-2004, 01:35 PM |
Ok, I've been so inspired by this thread that I took some quality time and actually found a better picture of myself and have placed it in my member photo section. I think the member photo popup needs a little work. Needs to be a little bigger and some better styles, etc. Who started this thread anyways - a big thankyou! |
Posted by: CelticRose 12-Sep-2004, 03:30 PM |
Wow! I have really enjoyed the photos in here. Tassiecelt, that is a really nice photo of you and your family! Mac! What a great photo of you as well! Great to see your face! |
Posted by: Tassiecelt 12-Sep-2004, 04:57 PM |
Hmmm, well Paul, first off, I cannot see your photo, only a larger version of your 'crown' Secondly, when I go to the Gallery to upload a piccie I get this "Sorry there is no album where you are allowed to upload files" any thoughts? |
Posted by: Macfive 12-Sep-2004, 05:07 PM
Try hitting refresh on the photo. The new one should be there. I think there is a slight problem with the refresh on this, but the next day it should be fine when you reboot your computer and it checks for updated version of the page. On the photo-gallery you need to create a photo-album. Not until you create an album will you be able to upload anything. |
Posted by: ANNHAM 12-Sep-2004, 05:14 PM |
Does everyone know about the photo Gallery? There are some great pictures in there. Anne |
Posted by: Macfive 12-Sep-2004, 05:16 PM
Plus there are some wonderful features. Like you can post comments on the pictures (both poster and viewer), you can rate the pictures and you can send the pictures as an email postcard to a friend. It also integrates with our membership database which makes me very happy! |
Posted by: Tassiecelt 12-Sep-2004, 05:25 PM |
Thanks Paul, and we do want to make you happy |
Posted by: Tassiecelt 12-Sep-2004, 10:22 PM |
Well, I have searched high and low and cannot find this secret place where one creates a gallery to place piccies into. Pray tell, wherefore art thou, Gallery!! |
Posted by: Ceciliastar1 12-Sep-2004, 11:17 PM |
That is a good question, I've been wondering too. There's a picture of me in my profile. I'm the short one. It was taken about 2 years ago. I went through some rapid weight gain since then and I haven't really been in pictures since then. |
Posted by: dfilpus 13-Sep-2004, 07:04 AM
At the top of the page, under Member Services, there is a pulldown menu with Photo Gallery. At the top of forum there is an icon like this which will take you there as well. |
Posted by: Tassiecelt 13-Sep-2004, 07:13 AM |
thanks dfilpus but I know how to find the gallery, it's creating an album to upload photos to that I'm having trouble with. Again, i get this "I get this "Sorry there is no album where you are allowed to upload files" |
Posted by: dfilpus 13-Sep-2004, 07:25 AM
Sorry about that. Once you get to the galleries, the "My Gallery" button will take you to your own albums. Then the "admin mode" button will take put you in a mode which has a button that says "Create/order my Albums". That will take you to the Album Manager. It is a bit confusing, since "Admin mode" and "User mode" toggle to each other. I find the Photo Gallery interface confusing, starting with the access from Celtic Radio. I looked in "My Account" and "Community" first, before I found it the first time. |
Posted by: Avonlea22 13-Sep-2004, 07:27 AM |
just above that error you get, there should be a button to add an album. it's on the upper lrft of that huge error box. |
Posted by: Avonlea22 13-Sep-2004, 07:28 AM
you beat me to it! |
Posted by: Tassiecelt 13-Sep-2004, 07:48 AM |
Success!! thanks dfilpus and brian, at last the mystery is revealed, and now all can see what a complete pillock I am, and thick 'wiv it. As a self confessed photo-a-holic I shall be evermore grateful for your help! |
Posted by: Avonlea22 13-Sep-2004, 08:38 AM |
hey Mac...with all of this talk about the gallery...what do you think about adding a button at the bottom of posts to direct people to a members gallery, similar to the journal button? it would only show up if you've posted pics. |
Posted by: CelticRose 13-Sep-2004, 02:08 PM |
Oh Brian I have seen this done on another site and it is a really nice feature. |
Posted by: Keltic 16-Sep-2004, 03:06 PM
I've been planning on adding to the photo gallery and ended up with the same dilemma that Tassiecelt had. What do you do when you don't have a "My Gallery" button? |
Posted by: Avonlea22 16-Sep-2004, 03:48 PM |
You have to be a Founders member in order to have a gallery. Just one of the many fine perks. |
Posted by: Sekhmet 16-Sep-2004, 05:04 PM |
I uploaded one to my profile, does that count? That's my wedding photo with my darling lifemate. Yeah, it's a little dated, but my good hard drive is upstairs and hasn't been slaved into this system yet. So there! |
Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 16-Sep-2004, 05:22 PM
My dear, you're not old enough for anything to be "dated" yet. |
Posted by: ANNHAM 16-Sep-2004, 05:54 PM
Nice picture Sekhmet Thanks for sharing. |
Posted by: Sekhmet 16-Sep-2004, 06:05 PM
I think I love you already. |
Posted by: ANNHAM 16-Sep-2004, 06:16 PM |
Just checked out the new pics in the gallery... Tassiecelt, those are great, beautiful country and handsome family Tallyrand has posted some new ones too.. "Stilly" is real cute... that's a neat name |
Posted by: Annabelle 16-Sep-2004, 07:48 PM |
So who's gonna give the class? |
Posted by: Keltic 16-Sep-2004, 07:49 PM
A Founders account gives you 10 mb in the photo gallery instead of the 1 mb included in the standard account. If you check under "Enhanced Account" under the header "Member Services", you will see the differences in the two accounts. Anyways, I'll bring this one over to the Technical Forum. |
Posted by: talleyrand 16-Sep-2004, 08:36 PM
Thank you very much. Legally, he's James Stillwater, but he's been Stilly since he was born. The name was pretty easy, James after my my late uncle Jim. Stillwater, well it's a lovely little town in Oklahoma. Birthplace of http://www.sonicdrivein.com/, the http://www.wrestlinghalloffame.org/, http://www.okstate.edu/, a http://www.discoverynet.com/~bjf/pics/me_horse_crop2.jpg, http://www.eskimojoe.net/ and plenty of other things I'm sure but we ran down there for a night and part of a day (had to be back in time for a office Christmas party). Just sort of threw a change of clothes in our bag and took a little roadtrip down there. Hmmmm It seems like there was something we forgot in our haste... Oh well, it'll come to me. |
Posted by: Avonlea22 16-Sep-2004, 08:52 PM
I was just going by what it said when you click on the "My Account" button at the top of the page. I do see that you get 1mb of "personal photos" under a standard account, but it does say 'no' next to the photo gallery. Maybe Mac can clear this up. There seems to be conflicting information on the two pages. |
Posted by: ANNHAM 16-Sep-2004, 09:54 PM
I love it |
Posted by: gaberlunzie 17-Oct-2004, 01:48 PM |
After staying here for more than a year now I decided that it's about time to step out of anonymity...I added a photo to my profile. So I'm no facelaess "elderly lady" anymore... |
Posted by: emerald-eyedwanderer 17-Oct-2004, 03:51 PM |
Hi there, it's nice to finally put a face to the name, Gabby. |
Posted by: cori 17-Oct-2004, 05:15 PM |
Very nice, gabby. I like the picture. |

You look like a kid to me AND you're a redhead. Hubba! Hubba! |
Posted by: oldraven 18-Oct-2004, 07:39 AM |
Woo yeah. So that's Gab. Nice to see you, lass. I updated mine with a piece Urian did of Angela and I at our wedding reception. Thanks again, Urian. |

Oh sure.......you're quite the gentleman, Bill......but I do not mind compliments though... Thank you all for your nice comments! |
Posted by: greenldydragon 18-Oct-2004, 10:21 AM |
It says "I can't upload this type of file", but my mom took it with a digital camera. I'm a little confused, but at least it spares you guys my colorguard photo for this year. |
Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 18-Oct-2004, 10:43 AM
Make sure it is a .jpg and not some other type picture file. |
Posted by: greenldydragon 18-Oct-2004, 10:52 AM |
It says it is JPEG.....does that make a difference? |
Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 18-Oct-2004, 11:27 AM
.jpg and jpeg are the same thing, so it doesn't make a difference. |
Posted by: greenldydragon 18-Oct-2004, 11:33 AM |
Lets try this again: Nope: You cannot upload this type of file |
Posted by: oldraven 18-Oct-2004, 11:43 AM |
They're the same type of file, but some systems only recognize one or the other. Rename it to .jpg and try again. I've had to do that on more than one occasion. |
Posted by: Aragorn 18-Oct-2004, 12:12 PM |
Complacency is the one thing that was keeping me from adding my picture. Now that I finally got around to it I am relieved no one has seen it...Oops guess I should not have posted it here... |
Posted by: greenldydragon 18-Oct-2004, 12:34 PM |
How do you change it? Sorry I'm computer illiterate.. |

and where is your pic little miss susie? |
Posted by: susieq76 18-Oct-2004, 01:52 PM |
Doh....I didn't want to break the camera, urian! I might put mine on....talking about opening mouth and inserting foot..just because you men look so fab doesn't mean everyone does. |

Posted by: Avonlea22 18-Oct-2004, 02:01 PM
Easiest way I know of is, if it's on the desktop, right click on the icon, and scroll down to Rename, then just retype what you need. |

Nice to see all the new faces. What kind of dog do you have, susie? |
Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 18-Oct-2004, 03:50 PM |
Susie, your beautiful! You know I love redheads, but who's that person with their arm around you? Don't worry girl, you're more than just easy on the eyes, you're a looker. |
Posted by: susieq76 18-Oct-2004, 03:56 PM |
Thanks, Carolina Scotsman! Avonlea - that was my dog Amber. She was half Irish Setter, half Golden Retriever. You would think that would be a scary combo, but she was the best dog in the universe! I had to put her to sleep in August, because she got bloat. I miss her so much! |
Posted by: Avonlea22 18-Oct-2004, 04:02 PM
So sorry. |

Thank you everyone for your compliments. You all look wonderful as well. There are a bunch more pics on my website. I'll see what I can do about creating a gallery for some of them. There are actually a lot of pics I need to scan in. Pics of me getting my celtic knotwork tattoo, eating haggis, messing around in San Fran with friends, etc. I love having the digital camera, but so much happened before we got one. I need a scanner. -Chris |

Thank you for the warning, Susie... I'm afraid one better always has an eye on TheCarolinaScotsman...just in case... ...he tends to be terrific flirter at times... Yea, I also fell in love with that little pixie at first sight!!! Sorry Iago, you are a very handsome guy but your daughter (she is, I think?) is just adorable! Oh, and Aragorn...just that you know...you are wrong in thinking noone had noticed you put your pic to your profile recently...I did! In fact it is hard to hide something from me... Carolina Scotsman, Not too far from me. I'm near Modesto, CA. (Scene of such national treasures as Congressman Gary Condit, Scott Petersen, and Cary Stayner...bleh.) Grew up in Modesto, actually. It's about an hour and a half not counting traffic from S.F. Go there on occasion to drink excellent beer at the Gordon Biersch brewery, but as a rule, I try to avoid the Bay Area. -Chris |

I don't know. He started showing up in the bathroom mirror a few years ago and whenever pictures are being made, he always stands in front of me. He looks vaguely familiar, but I can't quite place him. |

Thanks Rose, I'll have a look at the site. update...had a look at the site. They have recently introduced a 25mb limit for free accounts. Always the way, they get you hooked on a good thing, then hit you with costs. |
Posted by: Tassiecelt 01-Nov-2004, 07:47 AM
Thanks for the compliment Rose, I've been around, just busy. It's coming up to summertime here, that means that not only work is busy, but play too. Summer is music festival time. I'll be flying off to mainland Australia on Friday to see the Chieftains, I'm really excited about that. It's a long way to travel for one concert, but it will be worth it. I'll pop in here as often as I can |

Graham! I have never been hit with costs with photobucket and I have a lot of photos stored in there. course now that everybody has read this and will be using them too, watch them hit us with costs now! LOL Webshots is good too and so is Image shack! |

Thanks! Anne! My babies are a lot more photogenic than in that photo, but they were disgusted with mommy at the time and wanted no part of family photos! Plus, my hubby has no patience with taking photos. He just snaps away and doesn't look for the best facial expression, dog head placement or anything. I told you I had other photos he took that I had yet to download! They were even worse! Hubby had absolutely no patience yesterday to take photos...........I should have known better. when my sis comes out to visit Christmas, I will get her to take some photos..........phewy on hubby! |

My pic is in my profile, or should be. Of course, I'm one of those who really hates cameras since I never think I look good enough or the pictures look wrong all the time. Slowly getting used to the idea of photos though since I started school and we were told to take pictures for our portfolio. Now to get used to editing the darn things on the computer. Gordon |

Rose, I'm honestly one of those 'dang yankees' that the born and bred Texans always fuss about...The yankees that came and stayed. Originally from Connecticut but moved here 10 years ago since job outlook up there wasn't that great. What area of Arizona? I've got family in Flagstaff and Pheonix. Currently I attend the Texas Scottish Festival held at the University of Texas, Arlington campus each year. I also try to attend a few smaller 'portal' games in the area. As far as I know, there is something like 6 games held in Texas annually, the largest being the one held in Arlington. Normally it runs the first full weekend of June each year. http://www.texasscottishfestival.com/ |

Update local! At OVFF, I asked a friend we know if she would help me get a new profile pic for here. I was just asking a friend to help me get a solo pic of myself to use here. To get one with both of us in it would have been a plus. Didn't expect her to jump in front of the camera with me so quickly. Turns out I never got the solo shot I had intended to use here. I've still got my old one on my hard drive and await feedback on the change. yay? nay? Here, I'll attach the old one to this post for refrence. If you can't guess who my friend is, check my OVFF gallery. |

Thanks for the warm words CelticRose. I'm still trying to find my way around the site. Hard to tell which posts are new. Any suggestions? Is there a "Newest Post" feature somewhere? I'm having fun all the same...it must be due to this feeling of being surrounded by all this Celtic "stuff" Yipeee Mike. |

Hi Mike ! Beautiful picture and your dog is a cutie (I love huskies) If you want to see the new posts since your last connection you have to click on the link "view new posts" on the top of the page I'm glad you have fun on CR, it's a great communauty ! Bye Françoise |

Also, any threads that have new posts will have a darker envelope icon. And threads get moved to the top of the list when someone adds a post to them as well. |

Thanks for the tips. It's becoming easier every day. Speaking of pictures...can we add small pics into our posts using the IMG code button? Mike. |

If you want to see the pic in the post, you'll need to link the pic from a website, or you can just upload a pic, and there will be a link to it. Fore example: |
Posted by: Avonlea22 19-Nov-2004, 12:57 PM
Very familiar with it! |
Posted by: Avonlea22 19-Nov-2004, 01:00 PM
Another option is to click on "My Assistant", and then choose "Todays Active Topics". I have this page set as my homepage, so everytime I connect to the internet, I see what's been going on for the day. |
Posted by: Keltic 21-Nov-2004, 10:28 PM |
I've added a pic to my profile and not just any picture. It is actually me and family. I'm the two-headed one on the left. The picture was taken about a month ago and overlooks the Ottawa Valley from the Gatineau Hills in Quebec. |

Keltic! I loved your pic of the family and you! It is really great! Thanks so much for sharing. Loved that toe headed baby behind you too! |
Posted by: Keltic 22-Nov-2004, 10:38 PM |
Thank you Maggie and CelticRose!! I'm not found in most of my pictures because I'm usually on the other side of the camera. There were some other hikers that offered to take the picture, so I finally have one with the whole family. |
Posted by: greenldydragon 23-Nov-2004, 02:34 PM |
That is such a wonderful family picture Keltic! |

"Nakina my Siberian Husky " Mike She's a beautiful Husky!!! (assuming by name she's female) I think my husky is getting jealous.... Good picture overall, thanks for sharing! |
Posted by: celticpaddler 23-Nov-2004, 09:29 PM
You're welcome. Nice try but he is a HE. The name was taken from a map of Ontario...if you look to the North of Lake Superior where the roads end...you'll see the town of Nakina. I hear it is well know to local fly-in Fishermen. Anyways it sounded like a nice name for my Husky. BTW he will be 10yrs old next March. That's getting up there for a male. I try to spend lot's of time with him knowing that they don't live as long as Human kids But he still has a playfull " spring " to him Could you send us a pic of your Husky?? Thanks. Mike...and Nakina |

Thank you Maggie. Yep he's my best friend... Mike. |

I added my pic to my profile..... it's a couple of years old, but with my old computer having crashed....all of my recent pictures got lost. And besides, I don't look that much different. Lil |
Posted by: Gordon 30-Nov-2004, 05:46 PM
And what a fine pic it is |
Posted by: TheCarolinaScotsman 30-Nov-2004, 05:51 PM
Another redhead! Be still my beating (racing, pounding, galloping) heart. Yes Gordon, I agree it is quite a picture. |

Posted by: Gordon 30-Nov-2004, 06:04 PM
Heh, I resemble...err......resent that remark. Besides, a dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste. |
Posted by: Avonlea22 30-Nov-2004, 06:05 PM
'Tis true. I can't argue with that. Very nice picture, liliMarlene. |
Posted by: LiliMarlene 30-Nov-2004, 06:38 PM |
Well, I wasn't trying to show off or cause a stir, and I didn't mean to make anyone mad (if I did), it's just about the only one that I have of just me right now, and truly one of the few of me that I actually like. It's outside of our front door and my husband took it. Lil |
Posted by: Avonlea22 30-Nov-2004, 06:44 PM |
Oh, you didn't make anyone mad (at least not me). I'm just kidding around. Bill likes the women, that's all. |
Posted by: Gordon 01-Dec-2004, 07:34 PM |
Definately didn't make me mad. It's nice to be able to put a face with a name, even if it is only online that we all get to know each other. Honestly, I consider the CR forum members my most favorite of online friends. Just wish I didn't have such sporadic access so I could get on more often. |
Posted by: Shadows 01-Dec-2004, 08:17 PM
Dear lady, First let me say... your husband is a lucky man and a gentleman for allowing you to share your beauty with so many! Upset anyone... I don't think so! |

Hey, if you move to a dealership closer to Sanford, maybe I can get to go. And your picture is perfect, a beautiful woman with a bottle out in the woods. |

Great pic, freekenny! Now I will know who to look for if I get that wild hair up my butt and decide to go to that Harley Place! |

Nice pictures in the gallery Shadows. I hope that you post some more pictures from the reenactments. |
Posted by: CelticRose 08-Dec-2004, 06:21 PM |
Shadows, I was looking at your photos. May I ask what kind of reenactments those are? Nice looking family too! |
Posted by: bigjimhainey 08-Dec-2004, 09:54 PM |
I too have started a gallery and put pics in ( mostly from the 2004 MS Highland Games and Celtic festival). No personal pic yet but my kids are in there. |
Posted by: Shadows 08-Dec-2004, 10:22 PM
Thanks! The reenactments are French and Indian War ( also know as the 7 years war) and revolutionary war... the time period we portray is from 1750 - 1790. I will post more photos latter. |

Hello, I finally got it and was able to create my album here. So far I only loaded up two pictures. One is my husband (10 years ago but he still looks the same - he didn't change a bit) The other one is my son who started Football this year. My pic you can find on my profile. There will be more added in the future. Just have to browse around and get some downsized. Take care you all. |
Posted by: valpal 59 08-Jan-2005, 11:20 PM |
I finally found a picture. It was from the trip to Las Vegas we took in April for our 25th anniversary. |
Posted by: CelticRose 08-Jan-2005, 11:29 PM |
Wow! Valpal! It is really nice to finally see you! You look so nice and pretty! |
Posted by: Shadows 19-Jan-2005, 10:40 PM |
I have added one or two more pics to my gallery, one is of my eldest daughter. |
Posted by: CelticRose 20-Jan-2005, 12:36 PM |
Shadows, is she the one who just got married? Very beautiful girl! |
Posted by: Shadows 20-Jan-2005, 12:42 PM |
Yes she is the one who just got married this past Nov. She is pretty as a bride! |
Posted by: CelticRose 20-Jan-2005, 01:06 PM |
You have a very nice looking family and your daughter is beautiful as a bride. Looks like she is beautiful anyway! Thanks for sharing! |

I am sick of my picture, but my computer's camera quit working . I changed it to a different picture but it is still an old one. I would love to add to the photo albums. I love looking through all yours. Soon, hopefully, I'll get some on here. |
Posted by: Avonlea22 23-Jan-2005, 02:04 PM |
I've added a few new pics to my album. |
Posted by: Rindy1202 23-Jan-2005, 02:11 PM |
Hey there Brian, Such great pictures. I love the one with the carebear backpack so cute. I finally found a picture for my profile I had to scan it tough and it didn't turn out very well. I am the "dark one" as my family says. I also added a few to my album. I love to look at others pictures. Slainte |
Posted by: Avonlea22 23-Jan-2005, 02:16 PM |
Very nice pic of you Rindy...it's always nice to see who we're "talking" to...even if the quality of the photo is not the best. Darn pesky scanners. |
Posted by: CelticRose 23-Jan-2005, 03:18 PM |
Great photos of everybody! I really enjoyed them! I keep changing my profile pic. I just can't find a good one as I don't take good photos. And scanners have a way of not making them look any better. Rindy! It was great seeing your pretty face! Do you still have short hair? I loved seeing your son in his sport! He must be pretty good to be obtaining a black belt soon! Thanks all for sharing. Emeraldeye! You are a real cutie! I haven't figured out how to do the album thing yet. |
Posted by: emerald-eyedwanderer 23-Jan-2005, 03:34 PM |
Thanks, CelticRose . I only saw two of your pictures (three if you include your pretty dog), and I liked them both. I wish I could help you on the photo albums, but alas I wouldn't be much help. |
Posted by: CelticRose 23-Jan-2005, 03:39 PM |
Yeah, I am doing something wrong. I get to a certain point and then I get stuck for some reason! |
Posted by: Rindy1202 23-Jan-2005, 04:28 PM |
Thank you once again Rose! Yes, I like my hair short as it is just easier to do. It is so hard finding a picture when I am the one who does all the taking. I like your current one! I think you and emerald-eyewanderer are very pretty! Let me know if I can help at all with the albums. I don't know you are pretty smart here.... Have a good one all of you.... More pictures Pleaseeeeee |
Posted by: CelticRose 23-Jan-2005, 04:34 PM |
The reason why I cannot post any pics in the albums is that I keep getting a javascript error message. Not sure what that means or why I am getting it, but that is why I can't do an album. |
Posted by: emerald-eyedwanderer 23-Jan-2005, 04:38 PM |
Thank you, Rindy. And yes, more pictures please! |
Posted by: White Goddess 30-Jan-2005, 06:36 AM |
I don't have a recent picture but I will dig around and see what I can find!! I'll keep you guys posted! |
Posted by: urian 30-Jan-2005, 11:46 AM |
I've got a new one up, myself |
Posted by: Avonlea22 30-Jan-2005, 01:14 PM |
That's a great picture, urian. |
Posted by: Rindy1202 30-Jan-2005, 05:20 PM |
Like the new picture Urian.. White Goddess, that was my problem no real up to date pics.. |
Posted by: Haldur 30-Jan-2005, 06:37 PM |
I haven't had a chance to get a good, quality, up-to-date picture on my profile yet but I'm hoping to fix that very soon! I used to have a couple up there but one was grainy and the other wasn't too flattering... |
Posted by: CelticRose 30-Jan-2005, 08:33 PM |
Very good pic, Urian! You are always so creative. Love your new avatar too! |
Posted by: Avonlea22 07-Apr-2005, 09:44 PM |
I've added a new pic to my gallery, if anyone is interested. |
