Originally slated from November 20 to November 22, 2009, will not take place this year. Held annually in Jackson, LA for the last 9 years, the festival organizers have been unable to secure enough sponsorship funding for this year. They hope to be back next year.
The Scottish Country Fair held annually in Sumter, SC will not take place this year. Last years festival took place on March 20-22, 2009. No reason is given on their site. They do state that a a free concert will be held on March 20, 2010 featuring the USAF Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble.

The Triad Highland Games, held annually in Greensboro, North Carolina was not held this year due to economic concerns. The event, which was previously a three day event, will be held in 2011 on May 1.
The fifth annual event was to be held on May 1, 2010 in Maynooth, Ontario was cancelled due to the economy and other factors beyond the control of the organizing committee.
The 50th Lesmahagow Highland Games, held annually in Lesmahagow in the central belt of Scotland, was originally scheduled to take place on June 19, 2010. The decision was made to cancel the games due to lack of funds, and uncertainty of the Lottery Grant.
The Cape Cod Celtic Festival, previously held on June 25-28, 2009 in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, was not held in 2010 due to financial reasons. They are hoping to be on stronger financial footings to see a return in 2011.
The first event was held in Lindsay, Ontario, in June of 2009 but did not return for the 2010 season. However, it looks promising for the second event being held in 2011.
The Halifax Highland Games and Scottish Festival, held in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, will not be held this year but there are plans for a return on July 16, 2011. Financial challenges and lack of volunteers is cited as the reason for cancelling this year’s event.
Held annually in Glenarm, Co. Antrim in Northern Ireland, the 2010 edition of the Glenarm Highlander Challenge will not be held. Information will be posted concerning the 2011 event.
The Blackstone River Theatre Celtic Festival, held in Cumberland Island, Rhode Island in July will be held off for one more year. After being cancelled for 2009, the plan was for a return in 2010. The return has now been put off until 2011.
The 2010 edition of the Rockford Celtic Festival, originally slated to take place on August 14 in Rockford, Michigan, has been cancelled. The cancellation is to make way for a weekend-long celebration honoring the 75th anniversary of the incorporation of the CIty of Rockford. The event is to return in 2011.
The 2010 event has been cancelled. Financial issues forced the cancellation of this years event. Plans are already underway for the 2011 event, slated to take place on August 26-28.
