As I've walked thru life

I've learned-
that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I've learned-
that it's taking me a long time to
become the person I want to be.
I'm still not there yet.

I've learned-
that you should always leave loved ones with loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.

I've learned-
that you can keep going long after you think you can't.

I've learned-
that we are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.
Responsibility is part of who we are.

I've learned-
that either you control your
attitude or it controls you.

I've learned-
that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first,
the passion fades and there had
better be something else to take its place.

I've learned-
that heroes are the people who do what has to
be done when it needs to be done, Giving of themselves completely
regardless of the consequences.

I've learned-
that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
It is what's in the heart that matters most.

I've learned-
that my best friend and I can do anything
or nothing and have the best time.

I've learned-
that sometimes the people you expect to kick you
when you're down will be the first ones to reach out
to help you get back up.

I've learned-
that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be
angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
There is never a good reason for cruelty.

I've learned-
that true friendship continues to grow, even over
the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I've learned-
that just because someone doesn't love you the
way you want them to doesn't mean they
don't love you with all they have.

I've learned-
that maturity has more to do with what types of
experiences you've had, the choices you have made
and what you've learned from them and less to do with
how many birthdays you've celebrated. Just because Your Age is high
does not mean you are mature.

I've learned-
that your family won't always be there for you. It may
seem funny, but people you aren't related to can take
care of you and love you and teach you to
trust people again. Families aren't biological, they are truly spiritual.

I've learned-
that no matter how good a friend is, they're going
to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that,
They are Human too just like you.

I've learned-
that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others,
Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself,
No matter how hard it is.

I've learned-
that our background and circumstances may have
influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I've learned-
that just because two people argue, it doesn't
mean they don't love each other. And just
because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.

I've learned-
that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.
Remember, as you grow you change too.

I've learned-
that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret,
It could change your life forever.

I've learned-
that two people can look at the exact same thing
and see something totally different.

I've learned-
that your life can be changed in a matter of minutes,
by people who don't even know you.
What hurts is that they don't care.
What heals , is when they do.

I've learned-
that even when you think you have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.

I've learned-
that credentials on the wall do not
make you a decent human being.
It takes a Heart.

I've learned-
that the people you care about most
in life are taken from you too soon.
No, You can not choose.

I've learned-
Not to say Goodbye,
Your never truly away from those you love,
They are always in your heart.

My Father, My Guardian Angel
Dedicated to O. P. Torri
Written By Angel Whitefang

Dearest Father,
Where have you gone? I hear your voice no more. In my dreams I see you but when I awake you are not to be found. What has this child done wrong for you to abandon her? Did I cry too much as a babe in the crib? Was I not a happy child? You left us behind, not a backward glance did you give, I lived my life with out you, I felt as if falling off a cliff. On the days as a child in school, Fathers would come pick up their children they would hug them and tell them they loved them. I would watch and my heart would yearn to hear you say these words to me, but alas it was never to be. Fake Fathers who were not interested in what your young girl had to say , crossed the path of my life and then faded away.
Now I am a woman, with babes of my own, never would I leave them, straying far from home would never cross my mind. They have a Father who loves them like no other. I watch them grow and see what you and I have missed.

Then on that fateful day the news comes that you have passed over the abyss. I lay on my bed and cry for my hope is gone. The day we could have met has long since gone. My Father dearest Father, I love you so much, Please don?t take your spirit from me, please keep in touch.

I have met my siblings today, You know, the Older ones that were taken when you went away. They are loving and kind just as I thought they would be. Sissy has presented me with a very special gift, as I unwrap it my eyes well up , my throat tightens as my heart beats so quickly in my chest that I feel it just might burst through,It is hard to speak, I squeek out a small "Thank you". Holding it close to my chest I can not believe that I now have a Picture of you. I look in the mirror, I look just like you. The Brown Curly hair that flies away, the large Brown eyes, the crooked nose, the winning smile that you show. They are all mine too, oh father why did you go?
With resolve I place your picture by my bed and know that some day the tears that were shed will not have been in vain But, for tonight I must rest and get rid of this pain.

As I snuggle down under my sheets I feel a warm arm encircle me. My husband is working late, I know it isn?t him. I lay there not moving wondering who this could be.

Then suddenly you whisper to me. My Dearest Daughter, I hear you say. I love you more each and every day. I never left you, in your heart I remained. I am with you forever you are my girl, for love has no boundaries, like in the flesh world. I sit with you when you drive; I play with your hair. I am always with you. The accident that you almost had today, that was me with that gave you that warning to stay for a second longer at the green light. I could not bear to see you in pain. I love you with all my heart and forever will I stay. Till the day I bring you home with me will I be with you. I am sorry for the pain, you were never supposed to be without, and you are a fine young woman and have made me proud.
A gentle kiss I feel you place on my cheek, sighing deeply I fall in to a deep sleep.
Upon waking I roll over and see, my husband sleeping next to me. I sit up gently, a smile on my face. He rolls over and looks up at me asking ? How did you sleep?? Smiling I reply? I had a visit with my Father and found that he is my friend.? Reaching out he pulls me too him and the tears run anew. ?He loves me!? I tell him, my sobs rocking my body. He encircles me tighter and whispers to me ? If he didn?t he would not have been your Father.?

Now every day I wake, I kiss my fathers picture and ask ?How are you today??
You may think I?m crazy, but I truly don?t care. Live my life if you dare. I know my Father loves me and forever he will. I have a friend forever, even if he can be stern. He is my Guardian Angel.

FRIENDS

During times of trouble or when your heart is blue a friend is always there to remind you of the better times they have had with you.

When the sun isn't shing in your world today, a phone call from a friend brings a smile with a simple "Hay!"

When worries and fears over take your heart, Your friend stands beside you not a world apart.

A friend isn't some one you see occasionaly, they live in your heart constantly.

a true friend helps you in anyway they can. they don't play games with your mind.

A true friend is what I have.

Angel,
How beautifully put. You have a way with words. I especially liked when you said that you can be with your best friend and do anything or nothing and have the best time. That is very true.

And your father, thank you for putting your heart here for us to read. I felt my heart break, but at the end felt a big hug.

Therasa smile.gif

Thank you for the kind words Theresa. I get a hug from him every day!

I guess it was just my way of letting the wounds heal.

LIFE
By Angel Whitefang

The strings strum a mellow tune
the me inside starts to soar
away from the anger and hatred that consumes this world
taking me to a place where love and kindness rule

The Drum beats out a perfect rythem
Like my beating heart
Taking me swinging through the jungle of life

The Pipes play a haunting tune
my emotions are free to flow
it takes me down the river of adventure

The singers sing in harmony
Bringing me to my place of peace
Refreshing my soul to face another day

They Joy of the song is what keeps me moving on
To live my life with a smile on my face
Things may be going wrong
but I can see the light ahead

I may struggle and I may have to fight
but I keep going with all my might.
The days of childhood are far behind me now,
I am in the midst of parenthood.

MOM! this and MOOOOM that.
Don't touch me, HE DID IT!

I thank the man who created headphones!!!!!!

Broken Promises
By Angel Whitefang

You promised to love me forever,
You couldn't see that far ahead

You Promised you would never leave me,
You broke your promise again

You promised the problem was with you,
but your eyes gave way to the truth

You promised that you would always be there for our children,
You abandoned them too.

You Promised me the Moon and the Stars,
Again, Nothing but lies

Now I will promise you something,
I can live a happier life With out YOU!

You're Leaving Again

You're leaving again in just a short few days
to the place that caused us trouble a few years ago.

You're leaving again, Will history repeat it self
or show us that we are stronger now.

You're leaving again
Do I have enough faith and trust in you

You're leaving again
will you return with out a personal crisis in your heart

You're Leaving Again.

Snow
By Angel Whitefang

Quiet is the night as the white of the goddess covers the earth
colder her breath becomes as her tears cause nature to sleep
soft are the petalflakes that land on the ground
sweet is the air when bathed in the blanket of white
heartwarming is the scene of a family playing together
the world stops completely , if only for a day
blessed are those who pay hommage to her
A snow Goddess in your yard, a child making a snow angel bring happiness to thouse pouty faces.
warm is the cocoa mug you hold in your hand
blessed is the parents heart to build a new memory in the snow.
Thankful is this mother for another oppertunity at sharing joy with my family.

This is something that Jay and I found on one of our Trips, The author is not named but it is so beautiful I had to share it with you all.

Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel, Thank you for keeping us in your sight.
And keeping us safe, in the day and in the night.
As we walk the road of life, Danger hides around each curve.
And sometimes going forward takes an awful lot of nerve.
Someone watching as we go, makes each step a little lighter.
And the knowledge of Gods grace, Makes each day a little brighter
So Thank You Guardian Angel, for watching over me.
To help avoid the dangers, That I might not see.
And Thanks for for watching over the people that I love.
Keeping them safe in your heart from your special place above.
And thanks for watching others, too numerous to mention.
Who find that when in need, They garner your attention.
Without the Guardian Angel, this world would be a lesser place.
And it would make it much harder to win the human race.

Phone Call from Mother
By Angel Whitefang

"Hello?"
"Happy Birthday Little One!"
"Thank you, Mother"
"What do you have planned for today?"
"Nothing, It's just another day."
"No, it's the day that you came here to bless all of our lives."
"Thanks Mom but I don't feel like I am blessing any ones lives."
" Oh? and why is that?"
"Things in the world have gotten so bleak and negative Mom, sometimes I just want to close my eyes and go home and never come back."
"Ahhh, I have those feelings too, but because you choose to stay and share your positive energy with those around you , you brighten some ones day, even if it is just by giving them a smile as you walk down the street. Do you understand what I mean little one?"
"Yes Momma. I understand, but it can be hard and I don't feel like my light is very strong"
"Ahh, but we can see your light, you brighten up most of our world with your love and kindness. Few people like you exhist anymore little one. Your light helps keep me from falling in to anger many times. I see your smile and you lighten my heart, I hear your still childish giggles and my spirit soars. You are for this family the rock on which we grow in the positive energies of the universe."
"Thank you Momma, I love you."
"I love you too, keep in mind, you are called Angel for a reason. To many many people, you are their Guardian Angel, I love you. Good Bye for now."
"Bye Momma, I love you Too."

Hanging up the phone she sat down in the nearest chair and cried, not because she was depressed but because in her mothers own way she let her know that she was proud of her.

Does It Matter?
by Angel Whitefang

Does it matter that my eyes are Brown and yours are Blue?
Does it Matter that my Hair is Dark and yours is light?
Does it matter that you look like Mother and I look like Father?
Does it Matter that you are the favored one and I am not wanted?
Does any of it matter at all?

No! this was the reply she heard from her Sister

Then what does matter?

What matters is the heart, the real you that you share with people.

Is that all that matters to you?

No! again was the reply she received

She looked at her sister, a woman she had known all of her life. they had always been there for each other. They were Twins, and now here was the other part of her soul lying in the hospital dying. They had been bitter enemies of late. She felt it so unfair that her sister should have to go through this, she was one of the sweetest and kindest people she knew. Her sister loved God with every fiber of her being. She was a Pagan and a sinner in the eyes of her family. Her sister reach out her hand and touched the young womans face.

All that matters to me and all that ever has mattered is that you are with me.

Her sisters hand fell limp and she knew she had lost the battle. she felt her sisters soul move to the other side. She slumped on the side of the bed, tears falling freely. She was not in anguish over this anymore, she was relieved. Her sister was now free. Slowly she got up and left the room she never turned back and she never forgot.

Each person Matters in their own special way, Just as you matter to me.

Posted by: Annabelle 19-Mar-2004, 09:40 PM
If that story were about me it would include:

Hey you forgot to put in the story that my sister has a big booty and I don't!

haha!

How the love of two sisters remains, even through the things which would rend a family to shambles.

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 07-Apr-2004, 07:09 AM
If there is one thing I have learned it is that true love of a family is the strongest when it looks like the world has fallen apart. Though I don't know that I would or could be as strong as the woman in my poem.

*huggles to all*

I have to be a mixture of everything, If I wasn't I wouldn't be true to myself.

A friend of mine sent this to me lastnight.
She wishes to remain anonymous

"There's one flaw in women"

By the time the Gods made woman, They were into their sixth
day of working overtime. An angel appeared and
said,"Why are you spending so much time on this one?"

And the Gods each answered in turn,
"Have you seen the spec sheet on
her? She has to be completely washable, but not
plastic, have over 200 movable parts, all replaceable
and able to run on diet coke and leftovers, have a lap
that can hold four children at one time, have a kiss
that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken
heart -- and she will do everything with only two
hands."

The angel was astounded at the requirements. "Only two
hands!? No way! And that's just on the standard model?
That's too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow
to finish."

" But we won't," the gods protested. "We am so close to
finishing this creation that is so close to our own
hearts. She already heals herself when she is sick AND
can work 18 hour days."

The angel moved closer and touched the woman. "But you
have made her so soft."

"She is soft," they agreed, "but we have also made
her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or
accomplish."

"Will she be able to think?", asked the angel.

They replied, "Not only will she be able to think,
she will be able to reason and negotiate."

The angel then noticed something, and reaching out,
touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you
have a leak in this model. I told you that you were
trying to put too much into this one."

"That's not a leak," the Goddess corrected, "that's a
tear my dear child."

"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.

She said, "The tear is Womans way of expressing her
joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her
love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride."

The angel was impressed. "You are a genius, You
thought of everything! Woman is truly amazing."

And she is! Women have strengths that amaze men. They
bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold
happiness, love joy.

They smile when they want to scream. They sing when
they want to cry. They cry when they are happy and
laugh when they are nervous. They fight for what they
believe in. They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer when they believe
there is a better solution. They go without so their
family can have. They go to the doctor with a
frightened friend. They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel and cheer when
their friends get awards. They are happy when they
hear about a birth or a wedding. Their hearts break
when a friend dies. They grieve at the loss of a
family member, yet they are strong when they think
there is no strength left. They know that a hug and a
kiss can help to heal a broken heart.

Women come in all sizes, in all colors and shapes.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run, or e-mail you to show
how much they care about you.The heart of a woman is
what makes the world keep turning!

They bring joy and hope. They have compassion and
ideals. They give moral support to their family and
friends. Women have vital things to say and everything
to give. They know when it is time to move on to a different
page in their life and do it with her head held high and a smile on her face, even though inside she is frightened and does not know what to expect.

However if there's one flaw in women, it is that they
tend to forget their worth.

Just my Feelings at the Moment

What it means to be a Troll (Moderator)

Your unpopular,
People would Rather lose a leg then be your Friend

You are always the butt of some ones Joke,
especially the ones that cut deeply

People assume that you think you are better then them ,
when in reality your just trying to keep things running smoothly knowing in your heart that the person you truly are will never be appreciated by those who assume this.

It means remaining Calm and keeping your witts when all you really want to do is scream and throw fits but, More mature reactions are expected of you and you always try to show that mature side.

no one appreciates the hours you spend working on a situation to keep things on an even keel. Except those who are in your shoes.

The days weeks or months you spend making something work so people like me have a sane place to go. Gets mocked and made fun of but if they only knew what your dream was they would be more likely to say thank you.

When it comes to a hard decision no one understands that you think about it for long periods of time before you make your decision and after you make that decision if people don't like it you get ridiculed , called names, backstabbed & all around ignored. You have to live with that decision and hold to your guns or people will walk all over you. Even if it crosses over to your daily life.

People forget that you are human too, you have emotions and feelings. Your always wondering if you made the right decision or could you have done it a different way?

You Hold deep Pride in your heart When the Head Troll tells you that he appreciates you and that he feels you are doing a good job, after all your Job is to help him in anyway you can.

The responsibilities of being a Troll are enormous but, few understand.
I'm Proud of Being a Troll and I love what I do. I'm not here for a popularity contest, I'm here to enjoy my self and do the Job that my Commander & Close Friend asked me to do.

So before you go and Ridicule me, call me names or just be plain old mean, think about what we Trolls do for you. and Damn It, I'm a Moderator NOT a Troll !!!!

Show some respect for the hours I take out of my life to keep things organized so that you can find what your looking for, or to make things easily accessible to you, To keep people on subject matter is like dealing with preschoolers, You think it is easy?? Guess again.

I take my hat off to my comrades who do this work with me, You have done a Fantastic job and I appreciate you, Your hard work & hours of deliberation have not gone unnoticed by this simple being.

Lady of Shame I adore You ! LOL!

Well said, but do you think it will be heard?

Posted by: Angel Whitefang (Rider) 19-Jun-2004, 06:41 AM
I do not know if it will be heard or not but I know it needed to be said. I wish there was a way to post this so that every one would have to read it but alas that is up to Paul I believe.

hmmm, Lady of Shame....... I like the sound of that, maybe I will use that as my Title, if you don't mind , Shadows?

Applicable to so many fields, but Unfortunately, I only notice mods replying to this... Makes me wonder.

Hey I read it and am replying! And yes, you made a lot of points about the way people think about mods. Makes me think as well! But hey, you need a mod to stir things up!

Hi Angel, I found your thoughts to be very moving. Simply because they made me feel as though heaven actually exists. Even if it's only in the hearts and minds of friends and loved ones left behind.

Thank you,
John Clements

It's tough to share such eloquent work with the public, but you have done a wondeful job of it. Those writing pieces are stunning and have a tug-at-your-heartstrings feel to them. Thank you so much for sharing here smile.gif
