Yes I was in the RAF - well remembered! However, my feet were usually firmly on the ground
I hope I don't end up in hospital too!
I've recently updated my justgiving page with a new photo of me (taken last Saturday night) and as I was asked why I was supporting Alzheimer Scotland I've put my reasons on there too
Lynda, nothing like a good wait. LOL. I am hyperventilating for you... I am so happy that you have went over your target this is for such a wonderful cause. Your an angel and a brave one at that. Hang in there Keep us posted.
Just a quick update - we've been told today that we've been triple booked by the airfield on the 17th that means the jump will now be in March, not in two weeks ... I'll let you know the new date as soon as I have it
Hi Lynda,
Just a quick message to check if you've jumped yet? I don't remember reading anything, so please excuse me if I missed it.
Right ... there's been a slight delay but I will have a date within the next week for the jump. The delay was that the person 'orgainsing' it failed to book it and hand over the deposits and left our place of employment ... we had to take it as far as giving a deadline to hand back the money or we were going to take it to the police. Anyhow, that's all now resolved and have the money back we're dealing with it ourselves and directly with the airfield.
Thanks for the update Lynda! Wow, normally one only thinks of the "problems with jumping out of a plane", and not "who would take the money and run"!
I'm glad that you got the money back and I'll be keeping you and your fellow jumpers in my prayers. Best wishes for a successful flight and a very happy "light-as-a-feather" landing!
Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer "am I worth dying for?" - Eleanor Roosevelt
The ultimate result of shielding men from the effects of folly is to fill the world with fools. -- Herbert Spencer, English Philosopher (1820-1903)
The date has been set for 28th/29th April - however ... I was unexpectedly taken into hospital for an operation on Monday which has left me with an open wound that is going to take 3 to 4 weeks to heal (it has to be left open to heal from the inside out). I am going to have to clear doing the jump on that date with my Dr before committing to it
I'm so sorry to hear of your operation - glad everything seems to be going well and hope your incision heals completely and quickly. My wife had an operation late last year (mastitis in her right breast) and it took several months to heal the incision that her surgeon made.
I hope that you heal quickly, but I certainly would rather not see you jump until it does. Not really my call, I know, but all the same, if you were my wife I certainly would rather have you postpone the jump for later. After all, your jump has already been postponed before....
Whatever the outcome, you're still in our prayers! I hope all goes well!
Lynda, so sorry to hear of your operation. I agree with Muircheartach I wouldn't want to see you jump if your not healed. Healing is more important than jumping. LOL... I am sending healing thoughts your way. Let us know how your doing ok..
